I was actually grabbing fairly aggressively, I thought- I was given up to a dozen different offers for formalized land trading and I turned every one of them down. But I stuck to tags... bleh.

It's not no reason. It's called personal grudges. Plenty of people hit Laf, and its not no reason, its because they bear a personal grudge against LaF.

There are occasions where people will suicide not out of a personal grudge, but out of a desire to be a douchebag. Examples of this are most obvious in primary or express when people will suicide or kill a country without provocation there, when there's not even a reason to believe from the country name that there is a provocation from a previous set or from another server.

But for the most part, actions tend to be based on personal grudges. These personal grudges may or may not be for valid reasons, but they tend to have been provoked in some way.
