there's not much time for either game dev or site dev lately, tbh. this is the first night in 2 weeks that I haven't been working from when I get up until I go to bed. i'll chat with qz, he was making some script auto-restart code last night for boxcar, maybe that is doing something weird.

but to answer your inane trolling, the pdm site is a boxcar replacement and will be open in some form to everyone just like Boxcar was. PDM just replaced LaF as my testers/first hosted clan because PDM'ers have a good testing background (ES) and LaF did its best to cut cords with me when they were in "OMG this is a 'hacking' is a conspiracy, there was no hacking! pang is biased anti-laf now! he bought into qz's lies" mode. that went on for days, even after hanlong admitted to everything privately to me+laf'ers and I was posting clarification threads to counter all the crazy trolling.

but you're right that the biting went both ways, however laf were the ones doing all the biting -- both to me and themselves. i just hit laf with a rolled up newspaper a month later and called them a bad dog, to continue the analogy.

anyway, boxcar being so unstable is the reason why I am making a new site and not fixing boxcar. if you don't like the free services qz and I currently try to offer, code your own site. it makes next to no money and takes a crapload of time and effort, so I invite anyone to take that job on! And don't forget that if it wasn't for very sketchy hacking-related endeavours initiated by Hanlong and TC, Boxcar would still be humming along as normal, so maybe you want to watch what threads you want to pull at in the future, eh?

Considering I have been one of the ones who always supported you that is one heck of a hostile reply to me Pang. Also from what everyone had been saying it seemed as if it was simply for PDM so w/e. Jesus dude.

It is a fair comment to say it is a pity that the site that was rumoured to only be for PDM was being worked on instead of the rest of the game.

This is a good medium to tell you that boxcar is broken and reset it or w/e.

The conversations and reactions between Pang and some Laf players had nothing to do with his work. He chose to make a new site because of the actions of one person in particular(TC) and chose PDM for it because of the falling out. The arguments wouldn't have affected it(Other than to put it in the hands of people with less game knowledge ;) )

Hm; without getting into this fight; I stuffed boxcar's scripts into a clone of Evo2025/EE's bot clusters last night, so that it would *stop* going down, so Pang didn't have to keep being harassed to fix it. As far as I can *tell* it's working, though I admittedly didn't actually check boxcar; however I didn't alter the scripts themselves other than to insert some code to print out some timings for each function, (to know if it's actually working)... and it sure as heck is grabbing the ranks and doing like 16k queries every 5 minutes, so it - at least to me - appears to be updating the database.


However, having no actual knowledge of how boxcar's db works, Pang will have to check it out later; Hopefully I haven't made his life more difficult by trying to make his life easier ;) but once it actually works here it should be considerably more "stable" -- as the bot controller detects when a script has crashed and restarts it.

The clock in boxcar is stuck on Jul 11 5:13:15 PM, which throws off a bunch of things.

For the record, "LaF" vs Pang started before the cheating was exposed. Can we drop it and move on?

Should be fixed i think? I forgot that when I stuffed the scripts into a bot cluster that the "top level" of the file was no longer global; having globalled a variable in there the time updater seems to be working.

(though I was still somewhat astounded that the time was based on the database... I guess it was to try to match omac time when it was 8 seconds off heh)
