There is no secret, hidden game where players use country names, forum posts, forum private messages, discord, or any other means to attack the integrity of the game staff or to attempt to interrupt the game's operations. Any players caught doing this will face severe penalties. As always, we invite players with legitimate concerns to escalate privately with a mod boss or administrator.

But but, what about the most important question?
Is Earth Empires primarily a war game? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Can we have a clear definition of what counts as "attacking the integrity of game staff"?

It could very reasonably be taken that any form of negative comment or criticism of a mod or dev to anyone, including formal complaints to other mods, could be seen as "attacking the integrity of game staff", resulting in a ban.

If that's not the case, then clear and concise guidelines about what counts and what doesn't count are vital, otherwise it's opening the door to "whatever I personally think" is the rule for any given mod.

It's not uncommon when something similar to that is attempted, some people attempt to press the envelope to see how far they can push things without going too far just to he a pest.



A tiny part of that is true. There are both rules and guidelines that moderators are expected to follow and a general set of do's, don'ts, FYIs, how-tos, etc to help along the way. Those things will often not be shared outside of the team. Moderators are individual people and will all have certain nuances and tendencies to some degree. General consistency is a goal but will still be subject to slight variation.

That could be described as censorship or silencing dissent. When someone attempts to suppress any form of criticism or differing opinions, it can also be referred to as stifling free speech, oppression of free expression, or creating a chilling effect where others may fear voicing their thoughts. Depending on the methods used, it might also be called authoritarianism or intimidation tactics.

Just my 0.02 on why the active players have taken and adopted going into another public discord to be more active there.

I have quoted the game description many times to justify me attacking my opponents as this is a war game. Yet I have been labeled a griefer, received many insults, etc..

Technically it specifies that earth is a strategy game, not a war game.
Pacting etc, and the unofficial rules that have grown with those, are also a part of that said same strategy.

I thought it was a Strategy based war game.

It is not acceptable to do any of the following under any circumstances:

- harassing other players
- threatening other players to prevent reports of rule breaking activity to the game staff
- sending forum private messages that break our rules

We're at the point where repeat offenders will have their game accounts disabled. Such players will no longer be welcome on any Earth Empires property.
