i actually find the concept of facebook bonuses worrying

makes me think of one of those facebook games where you have to get friends to harvest your crops, or more money for signing up fake accounts

also it feels a bit like when you had to sign up to all that crap in earth to get platinum so you got the free acres and turns

I agree to some extent. If this is what will make ee grow once again and be like e2025 in it's golden years, it's easily worth it (given of course these bonuses arn't imba of course).

I would assume the bonus would be smallish and I very much doubt we will need any FB friend help to grow crops. likely it would simply post something on your wall at most?

Yeah, EE may itself be new and revamped, but the people who made it and play it aren't going to whittle it down to "Come help your friends by washing their tanks!" or something stupid like that.

Why doesn't the theme carry on to the boards? We have an awesome theme but now the boards are not the same awsomeness!

ya, the new theme will be on the boards eventually... we just need to discuss the best way to wrap the board in it (as the boards tend to be wider)

as for Facebook -> yes, it is close. I have my account linked to Facebook and I don't need to login manually anymore! :p

With regard to the bonuses -> we're not looking to create an experience where you either NEED to have people "water your jets" or something to perform well, and we're also not looking to give people who are very socially active have a major advantage over others. What we're aiming for is a system where it rewards you for getting people to play, allows you to get something for doing it but maintains fair and balanced play for everyone.

There will be bonuses for things like linking your FB account to EE and for letting us have access to your news feed and such. We're going to make it very tailorable, so if you want to receive alerts on your wall, you can and if you don't, it will be VERY limited. Things like "Dave's country ''New England Pangtriots' was just killed in battle in Earth Empires! Join up and fight alongside Dave!" may be something you would see, for instance.

anyways, that's enough random thoughts for now... but yes, nice look :)

that advert/promo style example you mentioned i assume?

to be honest if it was a hassle to get every little bonus and you put in a reasonable monetary alternative id probably just pay
