So... i was just glancing through the news of some of the top guys and i noticed that he was planned striking one of his own clan mates.... Is this normal for the guys who have like 50k+ plus acres? Isn't that kind of cheating..... ?

Just curious what people think of guys attacking other guys in their clan to gain land.

Netting clans like Laf and Evo tend to strongly disagree with it(I am Laf so I can't stand it myself) but so far no one has really taken a stance on it and killed someone over it as a policy so it stands. Typically it is land trading but that guy is just farming so it is even more lame really :P

Still doubt he even comes close to the Bakku/Hanlong/SS/Xin finishes though :P

some have "personal" landfarm in same alliance, its normal, some do it via landtrading with other tags (pdm used to have landtrade pacts), yes its kind of cheating but not against rules.

sidenote: since I dunno on what country you are speaking and don't bother to check top countries so it could be also that player took his land back from retaller.

@marshall, he wasn't... that guy was tagged under his clan :p
both guys are from RD.

My question is assuming no one is running mulitple countries... who would run a country that is going to have its land farmed away by a teammate? I mean I would just quit playing rather than have some just take my land.

well of course this is RD and it probably is a landfarm, but they've been cheating for 13 years so I'm sure they've figured out a way to do this undetected

the farm will be dropped from the tag at teh end of the set and another RD excuse will be given

dunno how RD sets it out nor care. it will happen until some other tag decides to take action against it.

the only thing i am still confused with is what it is called. To me it doesn't seem like much of a trade to me it seems like the other guy gets screwed haha :)

That's where your assumption and player motivations are wrong. You stated you would rather quit playing than let someone else farm you, but not everyone thinks that way.

Some players only play on non-Alliance servers, but opt to run a country on Alliance for the sole purpose of generating land for the server (i.e they just login, explore, logout, 30 seconds per day). Some players simply can afford 30 seconds. Quite a number of Primary players do this.

Another case would be that a clan member has to stop playing the game mid-reset or otherwise, due to holiday or work or whatever reasons, and decides for the remainder of the reset just to give his land away to others who would make more use of it (and detag), instead of just using 1 minute per day to stockpile sub-optimally and bring ANW down.

hmmm i guess, but it still seems like cheap to have some private farmland in your clan. i mean if the guy quits shouldn't he detag, because he will drag your average networth down. Also it doesn't seem legitimate because if someone else were to try and attack that guy, because he has quit, he would get retalled by the big dogs in the clan because he is attacking the clan. But... if someone in the clan attacks the quit player he doesn't get attacked, therefore making the land practically free...
It seems this gives the biggest clans an unfair advantage because of the likelihood of someone quitting in their clan.

Anyway don't know if that makes any sense but basically it seems that this "landtrading" is kind of cheap, no matter what the explanation is...

yea landtrading is cheap but other option is to make normal landgrabs and then risk that attacker loses more than gained rises.

due land being scarce I haven't made lgs in 1a (outside taking land back from retaller) past few months.

free land, then detag it once it's no longer worth keeping in tag. it's a fairly standard practice.

But this is not what has been happening the past few sets for certain alliances. They will run straight up landfarms, where one country explores every day, and then gets farmed. It is not a player that has quit and is going to be detagged.
