Your goods on the market should not be protected from the 14%+ loss of switching governments. Right now, anyone good uses democracy or theocracy to drop stockpile. It would be nice to see some variety on the governments on the top 100 lists, and to make it more of a strategic decision on whether or not to change governments to drop stockpile, rather than a no-brainer to switch to democracy/theocracy.

It doesn't make sense that someone spends 90% of the set as a fascist, but then their government on the top scores list at the end of the set doesn't reflect what they were for basically the whole set.

I like where this discussion could head.... but I'm hesitant to support making it viable to basically destock as any government, as there is an element to strategy in how you convert/manage your country as part of an overarching strategy across the round.

as I've said before, I like to think of everything as a series of permutations. It'd be cool to see more variety in the sort of options you have available through permutations, which include government. This could make more government/strat options viable.

I guess the overall though is that it would be nice to make playing (especially netgaining) much less linear by introducing more GOOD options to choose from as you move through the round.

Does that kind of go along with what you're saying there, Rockman?

maybe 14% is a bit too much for goods on the market, half of that might be nice though

It seems like people would still switch to theo or demo by the end of the set. The net effects would likely be more demo destockers, better techers, slightly better CIs and TMBRs, and everything else weaker.

TTT. I still want this idea.

I like spawn's idea of goods on the market not receiving the full 14% penalty, but still receiving some degree of harm from a government change.
