reading Trainboys post about allies got me thinking about allies...

the higher in rank you are, the less allies (def/off) you get

so the first 20% get no allies, the 2nd 20% get 1 def ally, the 3rd 20% get 2 def allies, the 4th 20% get 3 def and 1 off allies, the 5th 20% get 3 def and 2 off ally. something like that

that way new players/untaggeds have a slightly better chance against the farmers without it being impossible for the higher ranks to gain land

So if you move up in rank you lose allies that you already had?

This sounds like a needlessly complex solution to a rather minor problem. The humanitarians cutoff in primary is a much simpler solution to the problem.

pretty much yeah. you should be able to rank them though, so your least favorite ally gets dropped first.

in 1a the humanitarian range is bigger and last time i checked farming was a problem there ;)
