If our civies eat food, then they must use oil too. How do farmers harvest food without tractors, etc?

Oil consumption should be based upon total population, number of farms, number of industrial sites, etc. These are all things that use "oil" whether it be gas, motor oil, etc.

It would also boost the oilers economy, shifting the oiler strategy from being solely a war-time or LG need, to a constant need like bushels.

That last part is why this suggestion always gets shot down. We don't need another farmer strat. Oiler is fine.

in 2025, all machines that uses oil (other then those that are used for war) are illegal.

Medic.

Honestly I think what makes the Oiler strat so "fun" atleast for me is knowing when to play the market and how. The good oiler players actually stock tons and tons of oil and drop it on the market when the prices go booming because the war tags go to war.

It's a completely different playing style to any other strat, and more or so a gamble. I like that part of the oiler.

besides that it also has the strength of needing NO INCOME techs at all whilest all other strats basically need to pay for income techs.

Make oil requiered to place goods on the market. I never understood that to attack someone with troops u need alot of oil and to place 300m bushels on the market costs u no oil. Its like angels carry them to another country without fees.

I'm not saying make it a huge factor for oil consumption, but make it so total oil purchased on the market is up by 15% or so. It would definetly stabilize the oil market on solo servers.

our goods are teleported to market so no oil needed.

oil isn't used only on war activities since last time i checked landgrab or retal due lg isn't war activity.

if oil is needed to put goods on market and current oil price is 3-1k per barrel and oil is spent by every turn then it can't be kept in hand and netters would yell alot and loud.

add a "+20% amish power harvest" option like cashing, which needs oil :)
*edit*
