This sounds like a simple coding thing (I think, since I don't code I am basically just making that up), but what if you had government specific random events? I'm not even saying to have different effects, but different names. So instead of a tax rebate, Tyrants and Dictators had to spend to put down a coup attempt. Instead of a worker strike, communists had bourgeousie intrusions into proletariat workings.

Of course, if you wanted to have different things entirely for different govts, that would be AWESOME. Fascist random event: Due to popular uprisings you kill 6% of your own population! Sweet!

So same effect but different messages for different govts? not a bad idea :)

or the second one different randoms for different govts... also a good idea....
Finally did the signature thing.

Yeah, I kind of liked it. :)

The first one sounds like it should be easy, the second one maybe not so much.

Okay, I already gave you the one about pop revolting and you killing them, works for fasc, tyr and dict. Pop booms would be good for rep, theo, dem (due to the favorable economic/social climate people are moving in in record #s). Theos you could have anything be due to religious reasons. Tithing, wrath of the gods, church scandals, etc. Communists could have stuff like greed overwhelming the farmers impacting food production, price controls reducing consumption. I am thinking of more and will post again shortly.

Autocratic govts could demand greater tribute from the people leading to increased revenue. Commies could have efficiency booms from the cooperative mindset working well. You could have trade embargoes that impact anything, for any government. Market collapse could hurt demos and reps. Crime sprees could hurt monarchs.

Okay, I am starting to edge toward silly territory right now. Other people need to help here. :)

For Fascism:

"Oh no! A senior military officer has decided to 'purge' your military ranks of self-thinking subordinate officers and their commands! You lose 125,685 troops!"

"A geological survey finds a large oil deposit! You gain 1,236,432 barrels of oil!"

For Republic:

"Your people elect a lazy Chief Financial Officer! Your PCI decreases by 3%. For the rest of the round."

"A state-initiated banking audit has found $372,237,294 in unclaimed funds! Cha-chiinngg!"

For Democracy:

"Government opacity has led to a private market meltdown! All private market purchase prices have been increased by 125%, and all sell prices have decreased by 50% for the next 5 turns!"

"For once, a low-ranking federal worker has completed a project on time! You award her with a wage increase (thus increasing your PCI by 1%)."

For Communism:

"Your people revolt, forcing you to save your country by ordering your armies to massacre the rebels! You lost 12,384 civilians!"

"Your state-sponsored cyber-warfare taskforce has found 19,456 tech points left carelessly laying around in a foreign military network!"

For Theocracy:

"A trade embargo causes you to lose a trade pact! You must wait for 24 hours before finding another trade partner!"

"Your faith in a deity is directly responsible for favorable weather! Bushel production increased by 425%!"

For Dictatorship:

"Your people revolt, forcing you to save your country by ordering your intelligence agencies to infiltrate the rebels! Unfortunately, your spies are quickly found and killed! You lost 1,475 spies!"

"A technological breakthrough leads to better missile protection! You gain 1,584 SDI tech points!"

For Monarchy:

"A small mistranslation in a religious text leads to a bloody massacre! You lose 13,678 civilians and 56,483 troops!"

"Your civilians can't read, so you raise taxes without anyone noticing!"

That's what made me post here, I invested a ton in luck and got two cash shortages and a food shortage in one batch of teching. It struck me that if my citizens really demanded a tax rebate my government would just kill them.

Now now, it doesn't say whether that luck will be good or bad...just that it'll happen more often ;)
