How about not having unsold goods return until they are sold or recalled.

mmm I've always liked the fact that your stock comes. it requires you to pay attention and correctly manage your stock + give others an opportunity to grab it :)

I agree with pang... You want your stock to be safe, you take care of them instead of letting the game take care of it for you...

Just recall it every 2 days and your fine.

I think there should be some element of risk to stocking.

wouldnt hurt for express to have the goods off the market after 12 hours but still away for 12 more hours during which you could recall them for free

otherwise it sort of forces playing every 12 hours there

in other servers the change could be 48 hours on market, 4-5 to hit, if it hits at 4 then its in limbo for 1 extra hour, if it hits at 5 its not

if you wanted to normalise when stuff comes home and take that random factor out

it only really matters for people that are happy to vary playtime and either take risks or dont want to spend 3 turns to recall
