How do you flip 30-40K NW at the end!

I don't understand the question. Could you rephrase?

I see lots of players come out of nowhere in the last 4-8 hours of the round and jump 30-40k worth of NW. I just want to understand how. I do get that you need to hoard bushles and do a govt change, but just dont understand the timing, etc.

I do pretty good, but struggle with that part.

Oh I see what you mean.

If you're looking for a good destock primer, probably the most impactful single thing to know is why so many of the top players do a 24 hour logout at the end.

You want to be able to sell your stocked bushels on your private market (purchases screen) for $35. This means you need close to maximum military tech. Then you want to spend the proceeds on that same private market, where your near-max tech will have your prices looking prime.

The reason for the long logout is that your private market continuously gains units, and it also decays units - but only when you've logged in and received a turn. So if you logout for a long time, it keeps accumulating with no decay. Then when you login, you have far more units built up than you could otherwise.

We actually talk about this stuff quite a bit in the M4D Discord, come join me and a bunch of other Express players. The activity level is high, and lots of good answers to your questions from different perspectives.

Look for the "other servers" category, and the "express" channel.

The basic idea is to run all of your turns at the last moment and then flip to a monarchy and sell the bushels and then flip to a Theo and use the theocracy private market prices to jump. Most of those theos are either farmers or techers that jump at the last moment. Cashers will hold as much cash and food as possible to keep expenses down.

Just hit 40k acres and max tech by turn 1400 or so and start cashing from there. That’s likely what you are observing happen. Theo cashers are common on express. Reps too.

Techer needs to stock earlier. You run a high bpt (100 if I recall). Try running a lower CS count and stocking earlier. That slow start slows you down on express imo. You will grow a lot faster earlier on with the extra turns you will have. This allows you to capitalize on the early high tech prices.

Easier to resell that way too.

Just to piggyback a little bit - when I first came back, Cat gave me the checklist for a theo conversion destock for a fascist farmer in Express. I still have the image saved and read those steps before every destock. I've won express as a fasc farmer... 3 times? 4 times? 5 times? I dunno, several times, since then. His advice is good.

ETA - I checked, 3 wins as fasc farm since then.

I've got nothing more but just echoing Vic and Cat on this. It's basically stockpiling bushels, then doing 24 hr logout, then the Theo switch to buy Private Market (with Monarchy in between to sell bushels).

If you have questions around 1 specific strat, I'm happy to share more details that you can implement!

Farmer is the easiest strat to execute, and to learn the endgame destock (since you produce bushels and are already naturally stocking the right thing). You can just sell food on private the entire set, to get cash immediately to buy agri tech.

Casher has to balance stocking food vs just stocking cash on hand and eating corruption (you lose % of cash on hand every turn above $2b, just like you lose a % of food every turn to decay).

Indy is tricky because of how often and cheap you need to sell in order to just play turns, and the destock doesn't involve stockpiling food, but having enough cash/food to cash out all turns at the end of the game (while producing 100% jets) to gain nw directly.

Techer requires you to be incredibly turn efficient, so you'd wanna grab as much land as you can before tech spikes, then tech as much as possible in the tech spike, and convert your cash to a bushel stockpile, and do the same logout into theo destock.

So a double change in govt. Ok, have not tried that before.

If you sell your bushels and then convert you lose a lot of the $$$ from the government change. So the idea is to stash the bushels on the market, change the gov to monarchy and then sell the bushels on private market.

The reason being is once you switch from monarchy to the next government, you don’t suffer the government change losses while using a monarchy. So you can hold cash and do the switch to Theo without losing that hard earned cash. Good luck bud

need 8 turns to destock. put military, food, oil on market, put tech on market, switch to mono, recall tech, recall food/mil, sell food private, switch to theo and buy off private market
