ok, I see there are many changes since I played last. What strats are working best now for netting?

Mostly the same strats still work well.

TTR's are still solid, although tech prices this set suck, so they probably won't be as good this set. Farmers are good, but when it comes to late-set destocking, they may be hurt a little bit because the base food price on private market was dropped from 32 to 29 (although compared to old E2025, you can still get it up higher, since military tech now actually raises your sell prices and lowers your buy prices)

They've done more with commie-indy to make it more feasible for a full set, and some people seem to do pretty well with it, although I still am not a big fan for a game like 1a or FFA.

Some of the things you'll see that may the biggest difference will be things like a more limited supply of landgrab targets (since there aren't 40k countries on the server from bot-players) and forms of automation like standing orders that can certainly help players that aren't sitting around a computer 24/7.

I seen the thoes no longer have the -20% military costs. I would think that along with higher miltary costs on the private market would kill the reselling part of the ttr making it less effective than a demo techer. Commys seem to hold a lot longer than they used to with the changes and it looks to me that a theo with the +50 pouplation should make a better casher than a rep casher.

why late set destock? didn't I read there in no 2bil limit on cash? the only reason i could see stocking with no 2bil limit would be to protect the cash from grabs or to hide the value from spy opps.

Theo is still good if you have landed in a good netting tag.

They've implemented corruption on cash. I don't remember the exact percentage (one of these other netters who are better than me can surely tell you), but beyond 2B, you lose a small percentage of your cash each turn. If you're at 2.2B and running turns, it's probably not really a significant amount, but if you're sitting at 20B in cash, you're throwing away a significant amount of cash per turn.

Theo-casher isn't bad, and is a faster startup than rep-casher due to the population bonus, but the additional food and the tech penalty for being a theo eventually catches up to you. If you're starting up now and want to run cashers, I'd probably do theos, but if you have a full set, I'd still go republics.

Not sure where you saw that theos don't have the -20% military costs. That's still true. It's still in there.

Food also suffers from corruption/decay as well, which for food is pretty much true no matter how much or how little you have. They have implemented bonuses though, and one of those is decay, and that one's possible to get to -100%, eliminating any and all decay. I think some people are getting near the 100% point for that bonus about now (I apparently have missed some bonus opportunities, because I'm only at 80% on the ones I'm doing decay on).

Of course, as you said, ther'es also the desire to protect your stock of cash or food from landgrabs.

Theocracy
Main article: Theocracy
-20% private market costs.
+40% construction speed.
+50% maximum population.
-35% maximum technology.
Double GDI Expenses

that's from the game info page. no -20% military costs and from running my express country I'd say military costs are no lower than other gov's.

It's the first thing:

-20% private market costs.

that's not the same thing. The -20% private market costs was there before and there also used to be - 20% miltary cost which is the cost that it costs you to maintain the miltary each turn. it looks like that was replaced with the +50% maximum population.

ah.

Well, for the purpose of reselling, the private market thing is obviously still pretty helpful. That's why I found your comment sort of strange.
