its strange having the land be worth so much networth that it was almost pointless for you to destock/jump but thats what made the game so broken

looks like you could have more than 2^31 troops and they still counted towards networth but only displayed as 2^31

the land stocking strategy i came up with worked wonders hehe :) i was posting my land daily in our LaE stocking thread, and considered it my stock... lol

the server had approximately 30 million acres that weren't mine, so i owned about 80% of the servers land

i was close to half the TNW of LaE, but wasn't half the total server NW... if i sum up the top 25 clans' networth, then i get $38,111,960,397 NW, and since i was $9,029,201,298 of that... so therefore i was 23.6% of the NW of the top 25 clans, meaning i was probably around 23% of the NW of the entire server, since the 26th clan was around only 2 mill NW, which is pretty negligible

80% of server land and 23% of server NW... w00t

Heh.. even grabbing 3bil+$ in one grab is nuts to the 'normal' player..

i would argue semantics that your strat was basically a no stocking strat and thats why it worked, looks like about 25% of your net was a jump which is a lot less than normal gaining

i "stocked" land... just my stock happened to be equal to a good amount of NW as well ;) depends on the definition of 'stock'

according to the traditional method of "stocking" (cash+bushels) i only stocked for about 5 days

maximal gain would have been around 16.2 million acres i think from a maxed out tyranny on a PS on max mil strat at the best NW possible for max returns, since its like 18% of land max i believe

Did it ever occur to you that your mode of playing was a disincentive to other players and even may be a cause for people to leave the game or not even bother to run a country?

it did to me, thats why i wanted it changed before this set started

i think mostly people were amused about the country i made... no ones really upset, unless you are mad morticia. but the game rules have changed, so this won't even happen again. nothing to get upset over really :)

Please do not misunderstand me, llaar. I've been in this game twice before now when scores, numbers, etc. have been so out of whack that it led to the entire FFA being shut down. Since it is the only one of the Earth games that I enjoy, simply do not want to go thru a 3rd shut down because real competition is impossible because things are so dominated by one man/clan. Just want to see the game thrive, that's all.

I don't really know of anyone to quit because of it. And there really was no bug abused. If anything, llaar improved FFA because rules and coding changes are being put into place to make the game more competetive. Even the mods were laughing at what he was able to do

if you think that what he did has any chance at the mods shutting down FFA, then you are truly under some kimd of illusion. Just don't fabricate stories or start up flaming wars unless you have hard proof to back it up. As of now your wild claims and speculation are just making you look stupid.

MM does have a decent point that competing for 3rd place in this case, with llaar and MrCobalt clearly tying up 1st and 2nd place, could be a disincentive for new players except for one thing.....

New players have about as much of a chance of hitting the top 10 their first set as I do of waking up next to Heidi Klum in the morning. And if they stick around long enough to actually have a chance at the top 10, it's not overly likely that they're going to be dissuaded by something like this.

If I were a new player, I wouldn't want to quit if I saw that in the top 10, I'd wanna know how the hell he did it! And I'd probably stick around for a set or two to see if I could figure it out.

Like I said in DM's thread, play the game you want to play it.

If you don't want to play the game like llaar, then you should make beating your own personal records your priority.

If you want to compete for the #1 spot, then you need to find whatever advantage you can. If that's doing a massive buyout, do a massive buyout. If it's landtrading/self-farming between several countries, then do that.

I don't necessarily like the way llaar accomplished his #1 country, but as far as I know, he did nothing against the rules, so what right do I really have to criticize?

Only thing I can criticize him for is not giving us all the pleasure of at least using his #2 and #3 countries to nuke each other like Makinso said :P
