I think there were a few sets where IMP wasn't even pacted with NBK.

We can't help it they play with very similar styles and values. I don't see much sense in pacting self farmers and bigtime netters.

Up until this set, IMP was one of the smaller clans, I dont think anyone saw it coming that they would grow that big before hand. And we arent gonna be like "oh, you grew into our target range, gonna drop the FDP so we can kill you now".

And I doubt anyone can honestly say NBK tries to pick easy targets.

At least PANLV/FoCuS v NBK should be an entertaining fight. I hope PAN still has that moxie from a few sets back when they surprised everyone.

People love to whine and fluff about who the dominant alliances pact, no matter the server. If you find yourself doing this, maybe you should put more effort into building up your own alliance. Just my two cents. This wasn't directed at anyone posting on this thread, just to the general complaining that goes on involving this topic of discussion.

The NBK/IMP relationship has interesting dynamics. On the surface we have completely different personalities as alliances. NBK sees themselves as the White Knights of the server, protectors of the little guy. While here at IMP we kind of take pride in playing the bad guy. We will lie, spy, and manipulate our way to gain an advantage.

Yet, we have very similar values. The most important one being we are both very much anti self-farming. I believe we are the only alliances to take that stance from the very beginning.

I think also IMP realizes NBK would wipe the floor with us and it is best to be on their good side, while NBK realizes that with IMP on your side we have already proven we would go to bat for a friend.

Ultimately though I think it comes down to we just get along really well.

we had an extensive recruitment effort at the end of last set.

if we had been running those bots, we wouldn't have been the first clan to point out those countries and we certainly wouldn't target a clan that we've been allies with every set since they came to EE. That would be like Focus targeting KA, not going to happen.

Hhhmmm far from the equivelant :)

There are actually still powers around that could easily take shots at both tags if they planned right. They are not THE dominant superpowers of the server.

They are part of the bigger alliances in this server though. I think FFA is way uneasier to get a monopoly position in as an alliance, due to the fact that 1 - 2 new players bring 16 countries each to a tag but also take those numbers if they leave. So it's harder to keep a consistent country base.
