i quit the day i found out my wife was preggers. used the patch, and stayed away from people as much as possible. that was around 5 years ago now and i havnt cheated once. however i still want a cigg after a large meal or a night of drinking. self control kid, it is all that will keep you on your path.

Smoked for 35 years more then a pack a day and atleast 20 of them as @ 4 packs a day, Quit using Chantix, and have not smoked since April 28th 2009. You CAN DO IT. !!! Just keep remembering all the reasons to quit.

And yes it may seem like hell at times but it will be paying off soon. and the hell every 1/2 hour will become every hour or two and slowly be just once or twice a day,then just once or twice a week, now it only spikes a few times a year for me.

I quit by dipping tobacco and then slowly quit that, was pretty easy really.

The eating is ok just try to eat more healthy foods, and drink lots of water , it will help flush the toxins out of you.
And just keep going 2+ weeks is great !!!You are so there

Going to try starting on monday, last time I tried to quit I tried the patch. Got so pissed at one point I ripped it off, rolled it up and lit the thing.

I am still a smoker, 8 years strong now. I have half-assed tried to quit before with no success. My girlfriend quit smoking about 2 years ago and hasnt had one since. She used a combo of the patch and gum, with one of those electronic cigarettes if things got desperate. She only used the e-cigarette if she was drinking and that regime seemed to work well for her!

I quit in february and have recently started smoking again from boredom. I know I can quit again but I also know how hard it was to quit for that long.

I used the gum and it was easy the first time, but the 2nd time I just quit cold turkey, and whenever I felt like smoking, I used something to distract me, and even though it may seem like that won't work, after 5 minutes of holding it off, you can overcome it :)
