was kinda wondering what effect touch screens have had, or would have on FPS gaming. i haven't tried to play any yet, but it seems like the touch screen on my duo is set to act like a mouse.

will i get a headshot for poking some pank in the head?

that would be nice but i doubt that, dooms are somewhat populars as mobilegames for phones and tablets.

ok, but how does the control of the player work?
touch left to go left, touch right to go right, etc?
tap to shoot?
double-tap for secondary fire?

tap to move forward?
double-tap to fire?

flick near the bad guy to get the off the map?

no idea, haven't read any reviews on how things are done but i guess that keeping finger on screen and moving it around moves char and tapping shoots.

that's what i was thinking, until i thought about looking up and down. well, you couldn't look up or down in doom. so, up would be forward and down would be backward. oops.

if uses two fingers maybe then can look around.

i dunno, up until Unreal Tournament, i had my 2nd mouse button set on run forward with mouse look on.

I have a few online fps games on my iPod

they have touchscreen joysticks and specific areas of the screen to tap for reloading and changing weapons.

As far as the games I have, touch has nothing to do with aim outside of the joystick.

The only way i can see it working is with a mouse aswell as a touchscreen :-/

Unless you can get something like the iPhone n stuff where tilting the device would be movement?

i was technically thinking of touchscreens on computers, but i don't even know that gamers would be interested in them. i just noticed that Dell had a few laptops with the option, and i was wondering if it would come in handy for Diablo2 LoD, when it occurred to me that it would've been nice if i could've just tapped across the screen with 4 fingers to select targets for Battlefield. tap, tap, tap, tap... You're Toast!!!
