Ok I have a HP pavilion a350n with a Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8x

it is a bit old now and uses VGA/analog signal!! Maybe a bit outdated.

So plz give me suggestions on what would be a good replacement for it!?

on what use? Radeon 4670/4650s are most newest AGP-cards and suit for gaming unless you want to play Crysis with full effects on.

ya, what do you want to use it for? what kind of connection(s) do you have (PCIEx16? AGP?)? How much longer do you plan on keeping that computer? Do you have overheating problems or does it run cool?

answering those will help :) :p

by hp it has agp-slot so no pci-e card suits and since its 7ish years old comp it doesn't have pci-e power connectors.

radeon 46x0 or geforce 7800gs are most recent agp-cards and due age of your comp both are more than fine for your comp. totally different thing is that if you can find those anywhere (anymore).

He won't be able to use the Radeon 4670/4650 series as they require a min. of 400 watt power supply. His machine according to specs only has 300 watts. And there is only 3 pci and 1 agp slots. So PCIEx16 is a no go as well.

Your best bet troy is the Radeon HD 4350 in the Radeon family or EVGA GeForce 6200 as examples. Note: the core clock and memory clock are much faster in the Radeon than the evga.
However if you only have the 512mb of memory that the computer came with you really should bump that up to at least 1GB your max is 2GB.

Even doing all this you still won't be able to play a lot of todays newer games very well if at all with that pc, just for a heads up if thats what your after.
