maybe my perspective is a bit off becase it's a picture, but to me that picture makes it look like a tug or barge is crossing the Delaware instead of going up and down it. which doesn't make any sense to me. hmmm, wonder if i can see me crossing the bridge if i zoom in.

i dunno, i just wonder why i didn't witness it happening, and the picture makes me wonder how it happened. i probably just crossed the bridge before it happened. was a hot day though, i was probably just focused on getting across the bridge.

and just out of curiousity, how fast would i be traveling if i cannonballed off the walkway of the Ben Franklin at mid-span? the walkway is about 170 feet above the Delaware at mid-span. i think acceleration due to gravity is 32 feet per second squared. assuming that i could jump out far enough to avoid the train tracks.

and no, it's doubtful that i'll try to do it, i'd probably crap my pants. the smell of poo would make me gag to death.

32 feet in the first second, 64 feet for the second second, um, no, dangit. i got a formula for it around here somewhere. should be like a 3 second fall... err, cannonball.

plus, i would probably end up being sued to death, if i actually survived the jump. maybe i could buy jumper's insurance...
