let's see, when did they get rid of the draft... how many people are there in the US that have had direct contact with a veteran of the United States?

roughly 2 to 3% of the US has seen combat (its a rough guesstimation), and under 10% of the US has served (again a very rough number)

draft was abandoned in the 70's i believe, and u cant compare talking to someone about there experiences and actually being there and experiencing combat/military life in general

Anyone that voted is to blame. Anyone that thinks any politician cares about anything other than money (their own) deserves to be lead around like retards. The answers to American problems lie with the average individual ability to take care of his or her own self. The ability to take back the right to provide basic things for ones self like, health care, homes, personal safety and public safety.
We rely on the government to do take care of all of these essential things. The hope was equality. This lie has made human society a marvel for wickedness and helplessness. It has developed into a whole world of soft, weak, dependants with their hands out protesting for what we should rightfully have anyway.
Things that need to change are,,,,
1. Health care needs to be downsized by 99% the reason is most all surgery ect is routine, anybody should be able to perform the most basic needs and have the tools to do so.
2. Law Enforcement needs to be all but gone. People should look after one self and ones neighbor. There needs to be real consequences for real crime, not later but in the moment, by the one effected.

My point is that you are the problem. Your inability to take responsibility for yourselves in every aspect of life is the problem. Big buildings, with people, representing people that can not function without someone doing it for them IS the problem.
Any other answer or line of discussion is for fools that believe they can not provide for themselves. so go write your politicain and get no where, be a mindless retard, stay helpless then call it freedom. your way of life is a lie.

I know quite a few, from countries around the world, and I can tell you with no hesitation whatsoever that if that is your honest and logical belief, it is you who should be "lead around like a retard". For every bad politician in the world, there are just as many looking to actually make a legitimate, efficient, and honest system.

Lay off the 24 hr news simulcasts a bit.

I think open government that let more insight into what was going on in all these committees and back-room things would be a useful step to cleaning up the system.

my point is government has destroyed American way of life. laws restrict one self to provide basic necessities. I agree that there are many good politicians. but those good politicians do absolutely nothing for us. special interests are providers of services that monopolize that industry. all laws created are to protect their money. this includes, food, health care, safety, transportation and travel. why do you need government to provide for you? why do you feel good about overpaying for everything and providing nothing for yourself. my guess is that you feel good when politicians stroke you. your laziness is the problem. not taking responsibility for you life is the problem. fear in not being able to take care of your family is the seed of the problem. the world market is destroying and dividing nations and the world, creating conflicts to numerous to count.
Your hope carries our world further and further away from self sufficiency and peace.
