The US Navy launched the new Zumwalt Class Destroyer today in Maine.

The ship is truly a spectacular looking vessel. It features the new stealth technology hull plating, and sports the AEGIS weapons system in addition to new guided missle capabilites.

It is high speed, maneuverable and stealthy.

A new generation of warship has set sail folks.

Yes, impressive ship. and its actually the largest destroyer the US ever built. But then it sounds like it 1/2 destroyer, 1/2 cruiser.

It's gotta be worth 10K troops at the least. It's got a railgun.

too bad they are only going to make 2 of them abd then go back to making Arliegh Burke class DDGs because Osama cut all the program funding, just like the F-22.

and it does NOT have a rail gun. it has an advanced gun, but for not it is conventional. it has the electrical power to include one, or a free electron laser, maybe, when the technology is feasible.
