The bottom line is that a bunch of (mainly) old, ignorant men want to have "control" over what all women do with their bodies. It sounds weird to me but that seems to be the case given how legislation has gone in the US during my lifetime.

Women can't get abortions.... and also shouldn't get birth control? And don't think about any help from the state with the baby -- that creates a society of entitlement!

Corporate overlords now get almost as much say in a women's family planning as the woman. Once the House passes that bill which gives congress or employers the ability to select the father for a woman's baby, the whole process will be controlled end-to-end.

Helping those less fortunate creates a welfare society but telling women how to live their lives and what to do with their bodies is all part of the freedom!!!!
