^agreed. As I pointed out, police strongholds typically represent an extremely union friendly democratic city with higher tax revenues. Conservatives on a local level tend to push for less taxes and defunding kinda everything equally in my experience. I don't think the proportion of tax dollars that goes to police changes much tho unless people push to redistribute it to other programs, but yes. The largest police cities are almost always democrat run.
