i had previously used two different passwords for the forums and the game itself, as i created them at different times, or you asked for different requirements from the two, i think is more likely the case (the game needed a letter and the forum didn't?)

anyways, now when i try to log into the forum only and not the game, i am unable to, my old password does not work? when i try with my game account info, it works, but takes me to portal when i then need to navigate back.

my login information from the forums no longer is valid?

forum and game accounts got merged so now we have only 1 login and that's game login.

you can add more forum accounts under your main account if you want.

that kind of sucks, then. is it possible already to make it so that login doesn't bring me to portal, but leaves me on the page i was on when i logged in, like it used to?

not atm since we only have portal account (i think).

just like we can't log out from potal cause we get logged out from forums too then.

logging out from portal but not in forums is somewhat addressed.

Yes, that is the plan. Though I haven't done so yet.

Correct. They are one account now. I could, in the future, make it so you have to re-enter your password to access a country, assuming you enable such an option in the preferences? Or something like that... timeout or something.



For what we are trying to achieve, yes. That is, unified forum/game systems....

unified game/forum systems means you can not be in one and not in the other? what are the benefits of this to overweight the terrible inconvenience?

It means I can start *assuming* people have a game account or a forum account & Vice Versa, and can start to think about doing things like alliance forums in game, and achievements, &etc

i love both those ideas, qz, especially alliance forums

but i do still fail to understand why we couldn't be logged into one and not the other?

as it is now, the red play now button and the sign in for forums is redundant, no?

They're a single account now -- The Play Now link is just a link to /portal

You'll notice you're on http://www.earthempires.com/forum now, not forums.earthempires.com

They're using the same cookie/login info...
