Welp, I don’t have any chance to win anymore

However, rather than quit I’ll be going to go back to playing the way I played years ago

Let’s see how many countries I can start a fight with at once, lol

Unfortunately there isn't really a way to be strong with spy defences and also get fat enough to win

You still need to farm as many as you can in order to win, so now it becomes even more a game of luck, and the winner depends on who eats the most spy attacks versus who doesn't

Also makes CI even stronger as they are the only ones with a realistic chance to get fat and maintain a high spal defence

I think these people quit when they realize they're not going to win,

They start the round with delusions of grandeur, and then as soon as they get smacked into reality once they simply quit

They would likely quit even if they were given the ability to launch their missiles

I suppose I just need to learn how spy strength is calculated … in much the same way I have learned how military strength is calculated 🤷‍♂️

The problem I see is when you can look at the rabbit and clearly see that the rabbit has no idea how to use his gun, and that its only a pellet gun

However, the rabbit is somehow still able to blow up a few thousand of your buildings with it

It would be nice, since the server is now allowing all kinds of spy attacks, if the formulas to determine a success or failure could be improved a bit??

It’s kinda wild that a country with hardly any spies, that is very poorly run and with a poor spal, can do so much damage to an established country with high spal

I’d you try to attack me with AB’s and you don’t have enough tanks you simply don’t get through, and if you try to SS or PS without having enough military you simply don’t get through

However, you can have a low number or spies in a terrible country that can’t accomplish anything like this dude that’s hitting me, and you can still do all kinds of damage 🤷‍♂️

Also, I'd be likely to fail a spy attempt, which could potentially draw unwanted attention

funny enough, I've only won Primary twice and it was with a Commie Indy both times, so I think modeling my CI's after Serp's finishes is an adequate strategy anyways

You simply gotta choose who you’re willing to break gdi against a tad more carefully than before

Also going heavy on spies and getting some spy tech is a good idea as well

I think they can still only Retal with spy attacks unless they are in the normal humanitarian range

I do have a rule tho and its a simple rule to live by, I never go rainbow

Everytime I play a Commie Indy I go back through the scores history and look up his old countries and try to emulate them, and its won me two rounds now

Just buy the tech anyways, if you’ve got nothing to spend the money on buy the tech

Military costs tech will lower your PM cost of jets and oil and allow you to stop buying from the large commies whom you are competing against

I just try to keep my tech levels above certain % thresholds throughout the round if I can .. before Gerdler and Tmac there was a guy Serpenator who used to dominate and he kept his tech levels solid all round

In the future if you see a large group of hippos 🦛 who are so hungry they tell ya twice .. and they’ve got a stockpile of missiles and a mountain of cash, maybe it’s best to just move along.

Just from a common sense perspective of what’s allowed and what’s not allowed

Practically it makes sense for gdi to block a small country from attacking a large one, but at the same time to allow the small one to still try spy attacks

Just need a better marketing scheme, there's a market for everything, there's even a market for pet psychologists

Maybe the game should work on getting a better/easier sign up process? and could add a bonus/free premium credit or somethin' for every time an existing player recruits a new player or somethin' like that ?

When I play Indy or Farmer I'll often take 2-3 turns to sell my goods at this stage in the round, instead of selling everything at once It's worth it to try selling 1/3 's at 3 different prices

making only spy ops not subject to humanitarian rules is a fair compromise for sure 👍

Perhaps some kind of an Earth University to help new players learn the game or simply some better ingame explanations of what is happening

Lets use the scenario above where you are new and you get farmed by someone who jumps out of range

When you try to Retal you get a basic generic message about humanitarians which is vague and doesn’t properly explain what has happened

Perhaps if the new players understood the challenge they face with better ingame explanations that help them understand what has happened? Or if they had a simple straightforward way to figure out what has happened rather than going to post on the forums?

Personally I don’t think the problem is the game mechanism the problem is in the communication and lack of explanation

The humanitarians thing I think is a bad idea because it’ll just lead to mass farming of the small countries .. I’ll play a fascist farmer and just SS tiny countries all day long.

I also think the PS changes are a bad idea as well

5 PS limit is fine and the current rules for humanitarians are what makes this server better than the other servers in the first place

Onus

There is no declare war option in Primary

Humanitarian range is 4x networth, so you will soon see 4 million networth countries that multi tap 1mil networth countries and then hope that they can stay 4x larger than their target country

What ends up happening is players who are building ineffective countries lacking strategy will become farmland for the top players on the server

CI usually wins, start fast, get fat and hang on till the end
