Trying to avoid becoming dogmatic, I take this stuff as 'this is what it looks like to me' instead of 'I know these things'. Spot on. The world is presently in transition from the industrial to the digital age. Societies will have to find their way in making the proper cultural adjustments to adapt. The best reference points I can think of are the transitions from the stone age to the agrarian age and from the agrarian age to the industrial age. Note the time compression when comparing the two.
These were complete game changers, impacting governance, religion, social norms, inter/intra-societal protocols, etc. Though usually slow, the changes were drastic to where, in some cases, what was considered moral and socially acceptable became immoral, socially reprehensible, even forbidden. As a species, we are about to mature (just a bit). The alternative is premature extinction - ain't gonna happen (this time, anyway). Growth involves an amount of stress and discomfort. What drkprinc posted looks spot on and is probably the best answer you'll find. I haven't tried it but most likely will or at least some key elements of it. The pattern I sent you is what's appeared in the news.

The part about DR I sent you is from using earthgraphs. After a few rounds of DR being passed around, lower gains become obvious. A week long country to country DR that earthgraphs doesn't indicate makes sense as an answer to this. earthgraphs is a good site we're lucky to have access to. I'm not knocking it.
