I'm saying given LaF's history they should just accept that they should rightfully not be taken at their word for a good long while and a tag killing for a reset isnt something you guys should be upset about either. My main point is that one of the things Earth lacks and has lacked for a long time is a community that polices itself.

Let me give you a story from TLK. Cheating was not tolerated by the community there. One age one of the most powerful countries (country = alliance there) was found to be running Multics and the community took it upon itself to punish them. They stopped all wars dropped 7 consecutive main armies and killed 200+ players in the span of about 5 minutes. That type of incident never happened again. In Earth the community values politics over rules so whatever happens, half of the community will stick up for the people who get caught and there is no deterrent for future cheaters.

The thing is LaF is on about it's 10th chance at best.

Bull. fluff. I told LaF IA's personally that Mr. Shadow was playing in LaF and was told "Yeah but he's only playing one country in LaF".

Considering LaF has had about 5 of the top 10 cheaters in Earth history I really don't think the Don's that separate them are really all that indicative of innocence.

Just want to point out to morons trying to spin this ALREADY that what Hanlong did is still considered hacking because it is unauthorized DB/network access.

The political posturing around an event which has serious implications is absolutely retarded. Rather then just continue to pick on SOF I'm going to articulate what is wrong with all of you:

1.) Alliance members are always ignorant of what's really going on because alliance heads work backroom deals in +s IRC rooms where their true intentions are laid out. Then a carefully constructed spinning of the facts if crafted to fit their objectives after the fact(or they flat out lie to the general public)

2.) Evo - Seriously guys. You are running a showboating victory lap about LaF getting re-re-re-re-exposed. Meanwhile everyone fully expects you to get caught doing some pretty shady stuff as well and I'm inclined to believe at least some of the accusations against you are true based on stuff I've seen.

3.) SOL - You guys are massive hypocrites in your moral outrage at LaF as it compares to your attitudes towards Evo.

4.) SOF - Back in the day SOF would just do the right thing and not be worried about SOL/Evo or whoever targetting them after LaF went down. SOF would have had the attitude of "come at me bro" instead of propping up a cheater alliance because of politics.

5.) You all are apparently fighting proxy wars between two groups of unethical players and you either don't know it or don't care because the most important thing to you is your side "winning"

6.) Most alliances handling things "behind the scenes" or staying quiet about it is bad for the game. The LaF situation should be apolitical considering what hanlong and TC did was basically a crime and a violation of the privacy of every single player and forum user.

7.) Added on Edit: I dunno how I forgot this one. But LaF you guys have had cheaters running your alliance since your inception(Gramberto) and every time we hear the promises of it just being rogue members and the new Dons pull the same BS as the old Dons. I genuinely hope you guys clean up your act this time but honestly if I were admining the game and you pulled this cheater bullfluff a second time I'd just ban the existence of your alliance on any server I hosted.

I would just restart in your own tag under an alias if you did then suicide him from within your own tag to get revenge :P But problem appears to be solved after talking to you on IRC anyway.

You don't see anything Ivan. You're honestly one of the dumbest alliance heads I've ever had the pleasure of insulting.

Sandra has played twice and won twice. She has to be considered one of the best players ever. She tried to make a lot of moves in that game and tried repeatedly to get Russell out but everyone else kept being suckered in by him. Ultimately she suckered him by convincing him that she hadn't done anything and thus wasn't a threat. Then went on to the final tribal and spelled out exactly how she repeatdly tried to help the heros but they rebuffed her, giving her all of their votes. That's a great strategy IMO.

Chevs: I would submit to you that the only difference in SOF's response to both Elitez and LaF is simply the fact that it is politically expedient to prop up LaF. When Elitez leaders were caught cheating was SOF not at the forefront of tag killing them? Now that an ally is caught cheating "It's people, not the alliance"

At some point repeated leaders of an alliance being outted as cheaters becomes "the alliance" and not "people". My logic is not flawed. While I do not advocate LaF disbanding or being tagkilled they politically rightfully SHOULD be isolated right now. SOF is propping them up by standing by them. People say Son Goku isn't a cheater, I sure as hell don't know that. I know people said the same thing about the new leader of LaF every other time someone got ousted for being a cheater and yet their leadership started cheating again.

Chevs: *I* am not and have never been a cheater though. I have probably been one of if not the most anti-cheater person this game has ever seen. As far as other alliances doing this I've railed against many many other alliances besides LaF. Ask ZEN how hard I slammed FBI for Vic :P

This isn't actually about LaF. It's about SOF who supported and continues to support LaF while claiming to hold themselves to the highest ethical standards, which is a logically inconsistent statement.

Maybe other people do. But I don't. I'm just calling a spade a spade and pointing out that LaF leaders do this fluff constantly and then the alliance tries to play it off as rogue members before appointing a new cheater to run the alliance and start it over again.

Chevs: MY point is these two are not the first leaders in LaF to be massive cheaters. This has basically been a pattern of LaF leadership going back a decade. They have had more leaders get outted as cheaters then any other single alliance by quite a large margin. If you'd like a bit of a list:

I disagree that it's rare that the best player wins. There has been that perception lately because Russell keeps playing and he wont ever win a final tribal. Off of the top of my head in the 2nd half of Survivor's seasons I remember JT, Parvati, Todd, Bob, Boston Rob, and Sandra winning and they were all either the best players their season or one of the best. Fabio you could make an argument for either way on being weak/strong. Natalie and Sophie are the only two particularly weak players that have won IMO and both won because the people they were up against were colossal aholes.

I don't think Tarzan gets the male votes. He voted out Leif, Jonas, and Jay unnecessarily. The women also can't stand him.

If Kim were smart the Final 3 would be Alicia, Kim and Tarzan :P

Is it just me or does tduong not add any value to anyone looking to do this? Most anyone who is capable of writing a browser game or other web services would be able to do everything tduong can do themselves and not have to send someone else money/give up add revenue.

I think asking what SOF is going to do in response to this revelation is a fair question Helmet. Obviously you are not obligated to respond but it is certainly a reasonable question for one of LaF's biggest allies.

As an ardent critic of LaF for a long time I like what I'm reading here. The only thing I will say is make sure TC and hanlong are banned for life and do not weasel their way back into LaF like TC has done once already after getting exposed.

The correct response is to ban TC/hanlong from LaF for life not "gut his access" or "remove him as Don"

Not good enough guys. These are the demands of the Earth community for us to grant the rest of you forgiveness:

1.) hanlong and TurtleCrawler are banned from LaF in perpetuity, no guest access, nothing.

2.) Any head that is discovered to have allowed either one of them back in(even under an alias) will also be removed from LaF.

3.) These actions have to be stated publicly and unequivocally.

4.) You turn over everything they said which may be attributed to his hacking at least to the admins, but ideally to the greater Earth community.

5.) You acknowledge that while hanlong may have been tightlipped, Turtle Crawler could not go 5 minutes without running his fluffing mouth and that obviously there exist other people who at least knew somewhat what was going on.

6.) If you do end up getting ganged for a reset just take it like men and don't piss and moan about it.

It's amazing how much people will stick their head in the sand for LaF. The average grunt may not have known but you don't cheat your way to 20 countries higher than MD's highest with only two people knowing about it. Does. Not. Happen.

Given current events I think it's entirely appropriate we as a community express our appreciation for the good work the admins have done. Speaking for myself if there's ever anything I can do to help out, even including donating to the game etc... Id be willing to do so to keep this place running. You guys + Martian and Zarcon have done such a good job preserving the community that you deserve a little 'rah rah go team!' show of support.

Also I'm finding the recent Marvel movies to be "good" but bland given some of the really good stories in the source material. Thor wasn't particularly compelling. Captain America was okay, but the whole movie felt like a giant setup for later movies. I don't particularly care for Iran Man as a character so I was never into those. Mostly they have made me say "hey that's cool" but left me thinking that the actual payoff will be at a later film.

b.) Since these movies are allegedly in continuity with the original X-Men movies, you have a major plothole with Alex Summers, Cyclops's brother, being 18 in 1963. That would mean Cyclops's parents mustve had him when they were 70.

c.) Sebastian Shaw's powers do not work that way

d.) Darwin's death scene made no sense.

e.) The whole romance between Beast and Mystique was dumb and boring

The only thing I liked about the movie was Wolverine's cameo.

Someone brought up the castle doctrine in regards to beating your wife etc.... I just want to point out that the castle doctrine does not apply to people who are allowed to be in the castle. For instance you cannot invite someone onto your property and then kill them because it is "your castle".
