My Friends,
When i came ro this game i was lonely and afraid. I searched for a home and found SOL, then i found my mentor Gonz, DrGonzo. Wise and funny he often reminded me of gandalf or merlin leading young warriors on epic quests of glorious adventure.
He turned strangers into family. He turned a game into a way of life. he took talked to me when i was broke down on the side of the road in the cold on a my first mobile irc app, while i waited on a ride. he was more than just my clanmate, he was my freind.

the alliance server is like a good relationship, steady boring routine mixed in with really hot and heavy passion on occasion. the clans or alliances are why most of play the game anymore. i personally would love to see the dissolving of all pacts and a free for all world war on here but i am crazy and have been told this.

i prefer the 120(120) for alliance. I have played all other servers and they are not the same for me.The way it is now is good. It allows a few days to miss to store turns and restarting is not as much of a pain. Reducing turns or reducing turn rates would bore me. Why slow down a game that is already slow? I like that we actually have a decent number of turns per chat, and that even smaller alliances can hit back and kill.

Besides i am used to running strats with the 120(120) turns rate. I would actually be very upset with a change to the turn system now as i have never had as much fun with the actual game play as i do now.

i think it is wicked awesome.

a true player would look at trying to wall that many hit at once as an expert challenge. and already we have seen a few people that did not coordinate properly and give a waller a chance.

i think any new toy in-game is a good one if it shakes up the game a bit.

IMO SOF would get an early lead on SOL. SOL does do restarts very well however.

Verdict: Close war of attrition with SOL and SOF on equal footing after the FS\CS love fest. Once the true war started however i believe that SOL would edge over the restart rate and unless SOF could widen the NW Gap significantly then SOL would turn the tables.

SOF has the advantage but only in the first half of the war.

i always thought the game should have a perpetual ranking model for alliance server. You have to be able to control what you take or stabilize your area of influence.

example: a simple map of the world. Each alliance starts with an area of finite area on the map. each time an alliance finishes the set the "influence" gained or lost can be added too or taken away from the map. to control an area, you either continue to win wars each set against others who want your area on the map, or net to stabilize the region and make an economically stable area of influence.

this way alliances would have a goal to work within to focus the politics on instead of the inter-personal politics.

just an idea

Would we ever see any new types of military added to the game? The existing military units are great and well-known, but would there ever be a new type of unit added with specialty attack potential to widen the games horizons a bit?

example:
Destroyers- a naval unit that can do specialized bombardment attacks that would destroy military and acres.(think beach head invasion) When sent on normal attack it would go against your opponents turrets, destroyers and jets.

I am just curious i have no idea how hard it would be to add a new unit to the game.

lol sissy. waaaaah waaaaaah i got suicided on. if you dont want to be suicided you should never hit anyone ever. I think that you should have never grabbed in the first place if you did not accept the risk it would piss off someone and they would parking lot your country ya nub.

it is that countries right to attack anyone who attacks them. GDI helps, but knowing how to defend your country is also a real good strategy when you wanna take land from folks.

i think it is more than random grabs resulting in a kill, iTavi. Alliances have retal policies that are made public for a reason. if this were any other server it would be a valid tactic, but not in alliance.

What i don't get is the complaining untags do when they disregard these policies. If they were grabbed by alliances too much they would cry about that, but we should not enforce our policies?

the name of the server IS Alliance after all.

war alliances will not tolerate you hitting them long without retaling, and if you hit like you have been, on multiple countries in said alliances, you will be farmed then killed and then invited to learn from them. oh yeah....http://sol.ghqnet.com
