I regretted joining the cheaters but I did it anyway since it was so widespread.
Do your own research. Although that thread may have been deleted by Galleri when Celphi was banned before he chickened out of the war we originally agreed to wage.
It may have been the same thread where Ebert condemned you to hell which was unfortunately deleted.

I agreed to a war with no intention of trying to win. I fulfilled the contract and waged the war to a draw.
The agreement was cheating, nothing else was.
I said long before you that the agreement to wage the war was cheating that is not some insight of yours.


You condemning cheating is laughable.
Your belief that a winning outcome makes cheating less reprehensible is at once horri9fying and illuminating.
Now so much of what you say and do is explicated. The 81k result makes the cheating less odious. Wow.

I can understand your confusion. If all you have to go on was the news, it might seem hard to believe that a county which had virtually no buildings all set long could show up on sunday morning with 540 turns, and enough planes and oil to reasonably expect to kill most top 8-25 countries and yet that is exactly what happened/ I dp not wish to give a seminar on how to do it but suffice it to say if you can get to 70k unassisted you learn how to run countries with no buildings and no visile means of support.

One does not need a spy op to see one;s own country stats.

I find my self irritated at the cheating and angry over recent events. I realize that the cheating is being done by people who were raised cheating on computer games and probably can not understand why anyone would object to cheating on-line. I realize this is my problem, not theirs. Cheaters gonna cheat. DM's pledge rings down through the ages.

A war, not a NW race, a war.

We analogized to a chess match not a monopoly game.
In chess, You can have tons more pieces but still the game is a stale mate if you can not kill the king.
So too in our war.
Sure you had more knoights and bishops but were unable to capture the king.

If you had a different understanding of what a war is, you should have said so.

The war ended in a stalemate with both sides alive and well.

I came out with no defense because my true motivation was to use DR to break my land record.
I was confident you could not kill me and win the war but I was willing to take the chance.
There was never any agreement that our war would be decided by anything other than death.

Unfortunately, Celphi figured out my strat and did not try for the kill so we ended up with no kills.

As a chess player Celphi knows in his hearts of hearts he did not win, he got a draw.

I have no beef with Celphi and hoped he would keep me in DR all set so I could break the 70K land record.
Unfortunately, he stopped trying to kill me.

At the time, I could not understand why. Now I know he thought we had agreed to a NW race. He apparently believed he could win with a higher NW. I never agreed to that. Just goes to show one must go over every contract every term even something so simple and common as "war".

I came in Sunday morning with 540 turns, 7M jets including multipliers and cash for purchases, enough oil for 200M jets and a shot at a ton of BR.
Unfortunately, I left the jets not in protection for twenty minutes he blew them up. rookie mistake

He anticipated every move and survived, so good for him.

Unfortunately neither of us can claim victory.

Some might say his NW was higher so that means something.

It does not.

You do not win a chess game without killing the king.

So apparently posting people's builds and assets on the forum is now accepted.

This is a good rule change, actually. Now when the techers have $2B that info can legally (sic) be posted on the forum and a natural balancing can occur.

This lack of action sets a bad precedent and seems to further the clannish notion that flouting the rules is ok. After all we are friends just sharing a little bit right? A little bit of cheatin' is no biggie dude. Who cares if we break the rules and spit in the face of Justice? Who cares if we turn the solo server into a group experience. This is the slippery slope that Dark Morbid used to recruit his miscreants and destroy a once vital game.

I have to admit that last night was the most fun I have had at this game in years.

Celphi2-8, me having to play the voice of reason (a role I seem condemned to play on this server but which I despise), and Ebert condemning Gerdler made for an enjoyable couple of hours. I pity anyone who missed that.

Marshal, the one unvarying truth of this game, year after year is there will always be cheaters. Some will cheat to try to get a faux land record, some for the pure joy of cheating and others for a multitude of reasons. People will tell their clan mates hey let us not hit each other and in their delusional alternate state can have their "wins".

Nothing can be done to stop these miscreants but that should not stop us from setting up the server anyway.

It sounds like a great game.

These ideas, as Marshal implies, have been debated since the start of this site. No, I won't do your research for you, look it up mixed in the hubbub of the HoLaEcaust. Nothing has ever been done to implement these excellent ideas. I would love a last man standing. The best suggestion I have seen is a varying rule set every week. That way, we don't have the current simpleton's monopoly clone every weak. One week, the clone: next week, last man standing: next week something else. I hope they implement this.

And yes, I realize this is illegal.
