Awesome feature! I enabled it so others can click on my old countries from the scores lists but not see all of the countries that I've played at once. I know that allows people to see that I played a specific country but they have to click on it first to find out it was me.

I really like the new GDI but would like something like this even more. There should always be an option to not be restricted in what attacks you can launch but there should also be an option to opt-out of that style of play.

For example,
If a country has done 0-1 attacks/spy ops against you, you can hit them once and maintain GDI protection (no missiles/special attacks)
If they've hit you 2+ times, you can hit them the same number of times and you can use missiles and/or special attacks without voiding GDI

Or missiles and special attacks could work according to your proposed schedule but SS/PS/acquisitional spy ops would not be restricted. Something like:
Number of missile/special attack retals allowed = max((number of SS/PS by other country)^2,(total attacks+spy ops by the other country))

Don't worry, this isn't because of you. Bleh, I was just going to soldier on in Tourney until I reached maximum frustration in Primary. It's more of a personal issue for me, I suppose. I don't get as pissed off when things don't go according to plan in Express and BS stuff like this is a lot less likely to happen because of the rules there.

BTW, I never touched 22, not even a spy op: http://www.eestats.com/primary/country/22

Most people in Primary seem to play by the unwritten "gentleman's rules" that one grab is okay and one retal attack within a reasonable timeframe is allowed/expected. I don't have a problem with that. If you hit someone who can hit you back, you should pay for it. Also, if you relentlessly farm people, you should pay for it. Hell, I'll even eat a missile or a special attack as retal for an LG but getting hit with a ton of missiles/special attacks out of nowhere from a purpose-built country is frustrating bullfluff.

See you guys in Express :)

Even with very high/maxed SDI (with my acres, 500k pts for 88%, 1.4+mil pts for 90%), odds are that at least a couple missiles would have gotten though and I would have lost a significant amount of tech for the ones that didn't get through.

Stuff like this is BS on solo servers.

Yeah, I'm fluffing, moaning, whining, and complaining. It might not be becoming but I'm honestly fed up with this type of crap.

Too late. I deleted my countries in Primary and Tourney A. I've decided that the frustration that I experience whenever this happens outweighs the enjoyment. It took me 25 days to build my country and less than 3 minutes for an idiot to destroy it without provocation and with zero skill required.

Just logged into a country that was missing 30% of its land and 60% of its buildings. A missile country that I had never touched unloaded on me. That's the breaking point for me; I'm done with Primary and Tourney until/unless some form of the Express GDI rules are enacted here.

Yeah, I guess I should have carried more SDI if I wanted to succeed. That was my next tech to buy lol

I'm just done with game types where some idiot can ruin your set for no reason at all.

If the eestats tech calculator (http://www.eestats.com/techcalc) is accurate, a country with 10000 acres and 50000 Ag tech points would have the following tech percentages:

D gov't type: 174.35%
F gov't type: 167.59%

Add in F's 15% food bonus, and the F would really be at 192% of an M's production but would also be incurring 6% market commissions and -24% tax revenue.

D farmer should theoretically dominate F farmer...however, an F farmer scored higher than any other D farmer in Express (although he did do an end-set conversion to H).

I personally think F needs just a little something else. Maybe a slight increase to military strength? +10%

I'm not sure that would benefit Fs much since you're also adding 10% to their per turn expenses and 10% to their private market military purchase costs. It would definitely result in Fs having to switch to H to jump to be competitive.

Maybe JJ23's records should have asterisks by them but I'm including them as the admins allowed those countries to stand.

The next highest R was
Meriton (#14) $28,727,503, round 14, played by achan

And the next highest C was
JJ the impotent little kitty (#34) $31,152,768, round 53, played by dantzig

Also, one reason I posted this was that I'm becoming more interesting in obtaining the highest possible NW with any given gov't+strat vs just obtaining the highest NW that round. Sort of like bracket racing, I suppose.

I've been thinking a lot about the maximum potential of each strategy and how gov't type can effect that recently. I thought it would be interesting to look at the all-time NW records for each gov't type and strategy to help put things into perspective. I gathered this data by including the top 10 from every set 8 to current. (Yes, this overview is somewhat inaccurate due to the fact that a lot of people switch to H to jump. However, I'm hoping that others can point out any countries with higher NWs that these that played a different gov't type and then jumped as an H for the record.) I'll update this list as new information becomes available and new records are set.

All-time NW records by gov't type:

Communism
-N O I T A N I M O D Y N D I (#58) $32,050,000, round 56, played by JJ23

Republic
-RachelsEhhButCarrieUnderwoodsOMG (#23) $33,112,000, round 55, played by JJ23

Theocracy
-Test strat (#79) $27,241,822, round 9, played by ??? (if just jumped as H, highest H NW is Rampant Syphilis (#8), $26,685,356, H, round 59, played by dantzig)

Democracy
-giant flufffluff (#93) $24,263,829, round 54, played by dantzig

Fascism
-express play in express (#66) $24,716,555, F->H, round 58, played by ??? (Slagpit?)
(Highest F finish is Mr Perlwhite (#99) $21,081,229, round 29)

Dictatorship
-Green Midget Microblast (#6) $20,000,000, round 9, played by ???

Tyranny
One Hundred (#100) $14,759,660, round 60, played by ???

Monarchy
-No top 10 finishes in Express ever LOL

All-time NW records by strategy:

Cash: RachelsEhhButCarrieUnderwoodsOMG (#23) $33,112,000, R, round 55, played by JJ23

Indy: N O I T A N I M O D Y N D I (#58) $32,050,000, C, round 56, played by JJ23

Tech: Rampant Syphilis (#8), $26,685,356, H, round 59, played by dantzig (unless Test strat (#79) from round 9 was a techer)

Food: express play in express (#66) $24,716,555, F->H, round 58, played by ??? (Slagpit?)

Rainbow: LOL

Any all-x strat:
-Meriton (#14) $28,727,503, round 14, played by achan

The breakdown of number of top 10 finishes by each gov't type is:
C 92
D 57
F 20
H 208
I 4
R 146
T 3

12 Ds so far out of the 63 countries that have chose gov't types. That's the highest percentage of Ds that I've seen so far. Are you guys playing farmers, techers, or cashers?

24 Cs + 2 Is + 1 T = 27 probable indy countries so far.

I'm guessing out of 63 countries, we'll have 27 indies, 8 farmers, 15 techers, and 13 cashers. Still 69 undecided so the balance could swing in any direction...

The other thing is it's impossible to know the skill or experience level of the player so it can be tough for me to give relevant advice. I don't want to be condescending to an experienced player who is just trying to sharpen his skills by explaining every term and gameplay basic but that would be helpful for noobs.

Well the mobile login page gives you more info than the regular one and if you're <top 10 in tourney, it gives you information that you can't otherwise access without logging in.

A dashboard of all of your countries with name, gov't, NW, land, $$$, and bushels would be really nice to have but part of me thinks you should have to log in and lose your 12/18 hour bonus if you're so antsy about goods selling.

NOW3P makes some great suggestions. Halogen bulbs get dimmer over time and just replacing them can make a huge difference. The "lenses" or the exterior plastic of the headlight housing might also be quite oxidized and can be refinished to allow more light to shine through.

Whatever you do, please do not go out and buy an aftermarket HID kit. Your headlight housings are not intended for HIDs and you'll end up blinding every other driver on the roads and you could even damage your car.

Reposted from the Express Help forum for critique here. I used this start for my recent 26.6mil and 24.0 NW H techers.

I'm not sure if it's any good but my H cash start is super simple:
Save up 360+ turns
Set tax rate to 35-36% depending on food prices
Build 1 turn ent/res in approx 10:9 ratio (e.g. if BPT is 7, build 4 ent, 3 res)
Build CS one at a time until BPT increases by one (it's usually 2-3 CS with H so I actually build 2 CS and then 1 more if needed)
If more land needed to build, explore 1-2 turns
After reaching 2-3k acres in this fashion, activate exploration bonus and batch explore max acres (using explore bonus at this point might not be ideal if you're playing all-x)
(You can build to your desired BPT either before or after the batch explore. I'm not sure which is better.)
Use level 3 reduced construction cost bonus (-40%) to batch build on all the acres you just explored

If you're quick enough, you can do all of this in Express with zero or near zero military since the scores only update once per 15 minutes.

Yeah I expected #6 to break 30mil. He must have fluffed something up. Great set for tech. I would have scored higher if I had any success selling tech today . . . I ended up dumping most of it for $999. Still the highest NW for a TTR on record so I can't complain too much. Maybe I would have done better converting to MBR this morning?
