Attacking is guestimation. As a general rule of thumb, it's not worth doing Spy on Alliance and spying on the respective def allies. I usually over send by 50-60%, assuming that the guy I am attacking has 2 def allies with the same defense as him.
The only time I would bother with doing all my research is if I only plan on doing one PS for the day for HUGE acres, then I'll do my due diligence.

What is the optimal teching distribution? General rule of thumbs or more mathematical analysis would work. My general rule is always to tech/sell the most expensive tech currently sold (unless the difference between different tech prices is less than $200) on the market. So if I were playing techer, I would be teching mostly Indy in Primary. I would also spend a few turn to tech some bus/res/mil/weapon, which won't be sold.

All except techers buy tech. Unless you have really good buddies who don't mind you leaching tech. I guess the question depends on what you consider as optimal. If buying to keep optimal tech is stunting growth, then your optimal % is too high and needs to be lowered, or you are carrying too much military expenses.

Well the average price may be low but that number will definitely rise to at least 40 bucks if farmers realize that no one is stocking up on bushels at this point. So if bushels are being bought at $44 dollars, you can easily sell your bushels for a few buck less than $44! Again, this is simply because everyone needs bushels to spend their turns, not because they are stockpiling bushels.

Yeah, the only reason I went casher start on Dict Casher was to have the ability to build up my CSes and the fact that tech prices are much cheaper than the prices in Alliance. My major bad calculation is my dilemma of how to keep my land. If I cash early, I'll have enough money to buy tech and buy enough units, but I won't be increasing my bpt. And if I build CSes, I won't have enough defense. It's a bit tricky balance, but then if I had 2 top Commie def allies, I reckon this strat would've been quite good.

Yeah. The Theo was a Casher. I peeked at all the top 10s.
20k Free acres. That's yummy for Beelze.
But seriously, oil is sexy once it hits $150 or higher. Last set there was a period of 1-2 weeks when oil was near the upper 200s. oilers must be in heaven at that point.
It's true oil is not so good at stockpiling, but I figure you can either convert rigs into farms once oil drops below 100 or you can just jump a bit early and bite the bullet when oil drops below $100.

But on a serious note, farmer/oilers are looking really nice. $44 dollar bushels. I only wish I had that kind of prices last set.

Haha..farmer is definitely better this age. Facism farmer/Oiler may do well. Or play as a Demo techer if your tech is all over the place. Right now, bushel is bought out and so far tech prices are looking good.

Well, it's too late now to do a tech start. Planning on buying my tech in another day or 2 when most of the good techers should be fully teching res/ents. So in a weird way, bstrong86, I am building up res/ents early and building up the bulk of my cs during my initial tech buying phases.

Praying that tech will be 2500ish for res/ent.

Hi folks,
I am currently playing as a Dict Casher in primary (monarchy ->then Dict later). I decided to not to go for a tech start, since I wanted to build up my CSes early as turning Dict would severely handicap my bpt. I did a weird cash start opting to build 80cs right from the beginning, and then gradually build up ent/res (figuring I am banking CSes now so I can Cash later).

Now, I am having some second thoughts. My foremost concern is reaching ~3800ish acres w/o tech and in less than 350 turns safely. My second concern whether it was worth having bpt parity at the huge expense of not doing a tech start.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well..I am still have hope that there will be a set where there is a lack of farmers/oilers so bushels can hit $50 bucks. But you are right, commie/casher are the better strats to go. ;/

haha..I approve of herbs action, simply because Jedioda decided to tap me when I was in a war. : D
But by Herbs own theory, he should've been long dead for all his multi-taps that he did.

I think what Herbs did make sense if he ran spy ops to among his ABs. Or Jedi just didn't have any significant amount of tanks to drop Herbs readiness.

I am going have to revise my grabbing policy. Farm the noobs and single tap the pros. : D
