Kind of related, I think this issue is a good thing. With the advent of the Advanced Search Tool and Calc SS Def In Turrets - land grabbing got significantly easier. With the express server, a casual player can set aside a weekend and play completely from their phone. They'll always have turns and something to hit (hitting is fun!). Increased SS spam = increased player base? I only play express every once in while so I don't know if the actual gamer population has increased or not.

We have Coop now, I don't think increased PvP would necessarily be a bad thing. Those old e2025 express games were the thunder-dome and I found that madness fun.

I do agree we need something. 1A NPCs have def allies. Coop NPCs have the SS losses protection. Express could use something.

Another idea to curb SS spamming is to increase the c:c DR penalty. Those type of players repeatedly hit the untags that dont buy defense early on and typically stop hitting when returns get into the 100s - make them hit that returns number quicker?

New coach that wont run our goalies into the ground and play them like a true 1a/1b. I like our Free Agent pickups. Matty allegedly put on 10 lbs of muscle. For some reason we get the first game of the year, so i will be leaving work early for a 1pm game. I would be thrilled to get the 7th seed. I see the Kings regressing and us taking their spot. Not sure what other team will regress. I hope the powerplay isn't fluff this year - apparently the new assistant coach developed a good one in the AHL for Coachella.

- What is the point of the max turn reduction? I like that its one of the big differentiators of the server. I'm going to assume it was created to get casual players back and not have to login as often but what ended up happening is it leads to huge jumps at the end of the round?

I don't think you're overthinking it. If the spirit of spying/intel is secrecy - I say disregard the post.

If you enjoy building big countries, that is reflected on the scores page.

If you enjoy killing countries, that is reflected on the news feed.

Some clans have spy teams (I think?) but the Cooperation server has cemented a new position - a spy'er. I think it would be neat to track who is uploading all the spy ops in our new/fancy spy ops center*. On the clans page there could be a table listing which country** has uploaded the most ops. To visualize this data - I see there's already a table there about clan wars - something like that could work? A table of the top 10 countries in your clan that have uploaded ops. I think this is impactful for two reasons:

- It provides recognition for clan members to perform a selfless act.
- It increases the importance of the clan page.


* I noticed in the spy op center it doesn't list who uploaded it. Is this intentional? If the vibe of intel gathering is obfuscation, I'm not trying to go against the grain here. Close this thread if that's the case.

1) A checkbox to exclude news involving NPC countries. I am very fascinated with who is hitting each other but couldn't care less about peoples bot farming habits. Even less so now that we have a search function that parses out Diminishing Returns data.

2) The `By Attack Type` section. This feels wonky from an UI perspective but hear me out. Right now in the `Type of Attack` drop-down list we have every attack. I would find it useful if it was SS/PS versus Special Attacks. This could help separate war stats from netting news.

llaar restarted NA. I made a country and am actually playing it.

I think a middle ground would be: the ability to detag countries still in protection. Or less than 1 day worth of turns? I know I have made multiple attempts to return only to immediately stop playing. The country would be unable to assist and the admin would be able to remove that `100 $4717 M CountryName` country.

Suggestion:

Create a cumulative Top Clans page. It's purpose is for Total Networth to be tracked as the years go on (like players have). It's round 1 - everyone will know to re-use the same tag. It's encouragement to play multiple rounds and keep your clan alive. There's no war clans to blind side us so the rankings would be fair play.

Is there an express newsfeed somewhere that is Discord or IRC based?

If the in-game tooling is going to continually get better - make it so there's benefits with interacting with your tag in-game oppose to a 3rd party site/chat program. Kill the API key(s) for the Team server. This will force people to share ops in-game. People can still get around this via discord but it makes it more painful. If this server is truly getting phased out, it could be a good place to test 1st party tools only server.
