HIgh end spal depends on how you look at it. You can drop land and get 30 easily. I'd say anyone in express running above 800k spies is considered high end.
I've never ran more than 650k myself in express as there is no need to. High turns stored or cash is a much better protection than high spal or defense.

Tech is too expensive to keep up with and land is easy to get at this point. Keep indy tech above 120% but land is priority.

after 4 weeks, you need tech to keep up and it should be cheaper. Get indy tech to 150% and bus/res to 150%. Military should be at least 90%. All bonuses go to expense entire set.

You need more tech for more acres.
Maximum tech % does not change but the number of tech require to achieve that will increase as your acres increase.

You do not want to tech enough at 3k for you to maintain all the way until 20k. If you tech start just tech enough so that you are good until you are doubled the land. You should buy tech as you go

i always keep good spies unlike most other netters. But if they have good spies then you might as well farm and blow up their land anyways. The lower the land, the less damage they can do to you with missiles and spy ops like bomb buildings. And they'll wear themselves out faster with no production and a huge negative cash per turn.

I don't see a point in trashing someone's country without benefiting from it. If you don't farm them then you are wasting all your turns without much rewards.
