Easy for me to say i guess, since im not going to do it :P But of the 404 players there's lots who have absolutely no lifes :)

There ws 10'000 when i started playing.
Some where multies... Alot some sets :P
But there where thousands of REAL players.

So what have changed this?
My hypothesis is:
You guys, whom think it makes your fluff bigger to have the largest NW of 404 countries.

When i started playing people still raced for high NW, but they did it by competing!
Not by supressing their oponents with weird political made up rules that has to do with NW based or land based grabbing rules etc.
Nor time based war or grab rules, thats ridiculous! Get defense, play by how the game works. Its the same for everybody :)

You guys are not winners, you are whiners.
Because the real winners have left the game (some have gotten real lifes)
If you stop all the BULL fluff made up political rules, and start some heavy promoting... You might get this game back up there again with thousands of players.
Players with new real unique strategies!
Players who form new kind of relations, ideas and ideals!

I don't know what this "blindside" or "unprepared" is? Please specify your point.

All i know is that iMag is always prepared to be attacked, as you should be in a war game.
And that we always attack clans whom we are not allied to, whom we have no official or non-official peace agreement with.
With other words, we normally don't blindside clans.
If you still don't understand what blindsiding is, then imagine you have some sort of "trust" to another clan, and you destroy that trust with a war, that is a blindside.
We don't do that :)
I believe it have happened, probably. But considering we played for what? 15 years now you can honestly say that we are proudly not blindsiding anyone.

Land trading is just like a new kind of exploring, its a peacefull way to gain land using a symbios of 2 players who use their math skills to gain a lot of land together.
At the cost of the competitive art of land grabbing.

I like land grabbing! I don't want it ruined by land trading!
It seems as a fair amount of other players agree.

Land trading makes the game boring for those who enjoy competition.
I guess it should be solved so you can't land trade efficiently or the game will loose players.

I guess make it harder to retal and come out on top?
But still not to hard :P

Right now its mostly a matter of how much more you will gain when grabbing someone..
Its not like you are afraid to loose any land when retaled..

Or just make me king and make my turns count as 10 turns each. and i will stop land trading myself.. In an honest fair way of course :)
