There are lots of country threads that aren't getting enough attention, post in them!

Also, can anyone think of a way to encourage new players to post in the threads? Maybe make them register for the forum before creating a thread? Or offer bonus points for posting if it's one of their first resets?

How do you determine who gets bonus points and who doesn't? The new players get bonus points and those who try to help them get none? I don't think this is the system we're looking for.

I've seen an increase in the number of new threads since the last update you've done on the threads. Maybe its just temporary.

I've tried my best to get in touch with the new players and to help them. Unfortunatly either they are unaware of the system or they dont want to use it / dont believe it can help them.

Consider adding strategy specialists/moderators to the forums maybe?

send each new player an official ingame message outlining the help available on the forums

i think the idea of strategy specialists is a good one
include that in the message

when you create a country account you create a forums account with a message saying IF YOU WANT TO PLAY ALLIANCE GO HERE (a link to a thread or the forum to be recruired by alliance/team server) IF YOU WANT TO PLAY PRIMARILY ON YOUR OWN, (a link to Primary, tourny or express) saying yada yada yada should do it for explaining where they can play.

we need more players, not places for them to play.

Well I don't mind rewarding people who help out, but ideally some of our better/best players would be the ones who give advice. Would it be good to give those players an even further ingame advantage? How careful would we have to be to make sure that people aren't spamming for some kind of reward?

There is at least one guy posting in his thread and it seems like no one is helping him.

We're probably going to move to a system where a player types in his first country name during registration and then automatically has countries created in primary, express, and alliance. Forum account auto-creation isn't a bad idea either, but I wouldn't be the one to code that.

Did this resolve with the new bonus for posting in the forums? I'm a new player and that's what got me here.

Specialist forums would be neat, I'd love to see a play by play with commentary from some good players. I know I've been PM'ing the crap outta Mortcus and he's been really helpful. So that's why I think that would be neat to see the details of games by players like him (obviously after the fact), to see their train of through and methodology -This seems to be the big thing I can't figure out from wiki.

Have to agree with ZOMGBacon. The new(?) bonus system is what got me here.

Making it auto create wont work too well, soo many wont view it.
Maybe make it auto create and have the forum posts actually appear in their country. EG create a new menu below 'Advisor' called 'New player Assistance'. Where they get the option to upload their advisor page and also where they can view the posts on their threads. Or maybe this is too much effort?

And @ ZOMBBacon
Anyway I post advice on peoples countries who need it. Every few days

If you or people want specific strats and play by play replies to their country status they need to join clans.

Players will give passing advice to assist someone understand the game better. Which is what i think is currently happening in the help forums and is more targetted at complete new players. But they wont give out the finer details to a random.

(Many reasons for this but the main would be to do play by play commentary takes time, and 'good players' have been doing it within their clans for years. Many new recruits leave clans within the first set, so whats the likelihood of a random on the EE forum just dissappearing after you spend weeks giving them advice)

Conclusion. Join a clan and ill put the effort to give u the finer details of how to finish at the top.
If not, the advice i give will only be basic

What Drinks says. People on the forums are helpful, but it's people at the clans who are actually the best of the best mentor you can have, providing you join the right clan for your interest (netting, or warring)
