Indy: Always commie
Casher: All x - Rep, Grabbing - Theo or Rep?
Farmer: All x - Rep or Demo?, Grabbing - Fasc
Techer: All x - Rep-->Demo or Straight up Theo, Grabbing - Tyr-->Demo (or perhaps straight up Theo?)

Are the above combinations still the standard cookie-cutters? (If someone can answer the question marks or give more insight would be great.)

Well I can say commie is still always indy. And I'm running Rep Farmer in alliance.

techer might not be that good on tourny due only 1 month to play.

Well the combinations are really just whatever you want for your play style. Typically if you're grabbing you don't use rep because their explore bonus isn't as important and you have weaker military. Having a demo casher or farmer is probably more dependent on your destock method or if you plan to play the market. For solo servers you'll likely not want rep as it'll make you more of a target, but still very doable if you defend properly.

^^ reference braden who runs a great rep in express... although it's more difficult in tourney I think.

definitely a few more to add though IMO:
demo casher (although I don't like it personally)
full set demo & theo techers definitely are viable


also there's hybrid's...
- commie techer to commie indy works well in here.
- theo techer to theo casher can be good also.
- and mon techer to fasc farmer is feasible i think.

tyranny techer is viable, but not as efficient as theo even when grabbing. You save more turns with the build bonus than the attack reduction, imo. Plus you don't have to switch govts when stocking/destocking. I ran a tyranny this set in primary, and it just felt slower in terms of turns teching vs. turns building/attacking. Plus you lose the option to go tmbr unless you build a ton of CS.

dict farmer or casher is possible, but you've got to be good at grabbing and even then it's still pretty hard.

Thanks guys. Find it strange tyr techer isn't as popular on solo servers anymore.. Used to be the main cookie cutter strat to get to #1. Any old SKA dudes here wanna chip in their 2 cents? =P

not that much land and lack of players (same thing basically).

C/I is a very strong strat to play in all solo servers.

you missed fasc/oiler, but it would most likely suck anytime you play it :p

demo casher is good too.
