You realize that increasing the tech prices would just mean that given fixed demand, that fewer tech points would sell and that less techers would get any money? Lower tech prices actually increases income and thus allows more tech to be bought. (of course that is not a long term fix since people will also max out their techs and stop buying tech altogether... the real solution is fewer techers)

Personally when tech prices are too high I just save turns to the max, put in standing orders at around $2000 and wait for the price to drop. You can keep your $3000 tech :)

but if everyone keeps their tech prices at 3000 and waits 3 days, they'll have to spend turns eventually =P

Yeah, but greed generally overcomes Oligopolies, especially if they can't talk to each other cause they don't know who each other are.
