Also, most mods don't like posting fluff in the message boards, regardless of the fact that it is considered a perfectly acceptable means of communication within the community. Sure, it is public communication, but the public nature of it has historically not been the justification for why they don't want it used. Private message one of them instead. If nothing else, it is harder to ignore a spammed inbox.
