Escalating is an archaic and obsolete policy that should be relegated to the dust bin of history. As is the flat land:land rate of 150%. The former just isn't a proper enough deterrent, and the latter is too punitive in a game with increasingly scarce land. More alliances should seriously adopt Paradigm's retal policy. Even the alliances that we force to abide by our policy have hardly any room to complain since they benefit just as much as we do. Those alliances only get upset due to their dogmatic stubbornness of not wanting to capitulate to another alliance's policy, even if they ultimately benefit from it more than they would otherwise.

The pacts that have things like 150+% are designed to limit the overall number of grabs your alliance will be taking. It's a bit too much to have 5-10 alliances pacted in such a way that they can grab the hell out of you. It's much easier to manage 2-4 alliances...
