The Bomb Banks op is virtually worthless as is. How about putting some teeth into it. Assuming I have 1 billion in cash and my target has 2 billion, a successful op destroys something like 5 to 10 million in cash. Might as well strengthen it or delete it. Discuss.

I think the bomb airbases and cause dissension are fine in their damage, but pretty much everything else could use a boost.

If Bomb buildings works the way I was told it works (i.e. you can really only do significant damage to someone playing the same strategy as you), then it could use a boost, however it does do significant construction site damage (since everyone has construction sites).

Demoralize seems fine I'd say.

But the rest definitely do need a boost.

Yes, boost ops generally! Bomb buildings is terrible, completely pointless. Espionage is only OK if you are a fat indy producing tons of units on those turns, then it MIGHT be better than cashing endgame. More of the ops should benefit the country doing them. I should get more food for raiding food stores, I should take money when I bomb banks.

SR, CD, Demo and airbases are good. Banks, food stores, buildings and espionage need pumping up.

Can an admin comment on this? My point is not that ops are weak, but that the Bomb Banks op is incredibly weak. Destroying 5 million in cash when the defender has 2 billion is just stupid. It should be at least 1% (20 million) and of course, based on the attackers cash on hand as well.

I am not sure attacker's cash on hand is relevant. I would say ratio of total spy count would be a better factor.

I agree with Aponic 100%.

Espionage is another fine example of a wasted spy op. You get such a small percentage it's not worth it.

yeah.. bomb buildings seems to destroy more CSes than regular AB/BRs.. it's not underpowered most definitely.

Might only be my feeling tho..

If you actually read the thread, lincoln, the consensus is that most spy ops need strengthening, not just bomb banks. And they are not endorsing bomb banks as a method of suiciding people with stockpile, the way that you suggested.

pang has already said " well I hope he'll understand that we're not touching how this single op works unless it's part of other overarching changes to a basket of game mechanics "

No it wouldn't. There are plenty of changes that should be made, and this one isn't top priority. It would also be a more time consuming change to make, as compared to some other suggestions out there.

They will eventually get around to modifying the spy ops when they make a major change involving formulas. That is how I read it. Since they have been incredible in addressing concerns that lead to improved gameplay and playability, I cannot imagine that this does not get addressed in the near (6 month) future. Although I brought this up, my point was just to show -how- weak the op was. Per standard most attacks or ops are in the 5-10% range of effectiveness and with something sensitive like cash, in the 2-5% range. Bomb banks is considerably under 1%.

i disagree with making any standalone changes to bomb banks, so it's not likely to happen. if you haven't noticed, we're looking for ways to make it MORE difficult to suicide, not easier.
