Yeah, i see autoupload and such thing. Good job doing it, but please, do new design. Good design = new players... Noone will want to try it with design from 1996.

I wonder how important graphics are to most of the players here? I like the more minimal approach. Having a lot of graphics slow things down would be really annoying for me, but hopefully they would have an option in preferences for which version to use.

current players don't much care graphics but younger generation might want to see jets flying and troops marching and tanks moving during attacks (sidenote: jets are faster than troops so those should reach tgt before troops) and of course missiles flying and some animation after they hit tgt (if SDI deflects missile then missile blows up on sky) either big mushroom (nuke) or dead military (cruise) or destroyed buildings etc (chem). alot graphic/animation could be added but those should be possible to disable at options.

graphics might make killruns slower!

i draw the line at animated graphics in a TEXT based strategy game. even too many static graphics would be lame. we would just be another one of those new annoying upstarts, and earth would lose its atmosphere

We'd love to be able to make EE our full time jobs, but unfortunately that's not in the cards. At the moment all the core contributors to the EE code are pretty busy with work/school/both so we're not focusing on it as much as we'd like.

That being said, what you're saying is exactly what we want to do -- update the in-game design, get the recruiting efforts underway and in general bring the game up to the high standards that we know everyone has. That work is coming, but unless one of us happens to win some sort of lottery, we can't dedicate the kind of time and effort to growing the game that we'd like to. Also, keep in mind that it takes a fair bit if effort just to maintain the existing game.

Hm, yeah, most of the problems because of money (this devil thing):) If EE dont give you nice profit, you dont work with it. If you dont work with EE, it dont give you much profit;) vicious circle...
Hm, maybe you should try application for Facebook? It shouldnt take much time, but maybe will bring alot of ppl... For example 1 bonus per week for 1 playing (invited) friend. And then maybe you get more profit:)

And again:) How about facebook app Pang? Is it hard?
