ok if its an open wound just ground up a plan b pill and sprinkle it in there. make sure you get it all in there cause you dont want a pine tree growin on your shin. then wrap it closed like a burrito and just staple it shut. some use a nail gun and those big ol roofin nails but that may just be over kill in this case.

if its a huge gusher then you gotta soak some of that up. simply use cool aid as a form of quick clot. then just wrap your leg in a belt or duct tape. make sure its tight too. you dont want any blood goin to that area for a few weeks.

oh tail bone eh?

heres a simple solution for that one. first take the left front tire off your car. then your goin to have to cut out that portion of your tail bone. i normally recommend the biggest damn knife you can get ahold of just to make sure it gets the job done but you may wanna stick with a dull spoon for this one.

lather some old spice on the area to make it smell good then just start diggin. if it dont hurt it aint workin

-cut it open DONT but a needle in it. (top to bottom)(best to have someone do it for you)
-you need to pack it with gooze and keep it open.
-change the gooze every day.
-it needs to stay OPEN and heal inside out so no air pockets form or it will come back.
-will take a long time to heal looking at months.
-painkillers are great T3s if you have away to get them.
-freeze it everytime when you change the gooze.
-they sale cream that freezes.
-keep it clean best to have a bath every day helps the gooze come out easyer.

what it is: in grown hair.

gooze = gauze?

And honestly, I would recommend going to see a doctor if you're in enough pain that you can't sit. Usually what Hellrush recommended above is only the recommendation if you can catch it early, and before it fills with blood/puss.

ok gauze we both know my spelling is not the greats. if you ask the doc and tell them what i am saying they will say its right.

I'm not saying it's wrong, just that there is plenty of information out there that says that once an abscess gets too inflamed, you're better off seeing a doctor before just opening it up.

Regardless, you will need to go to the doctor for some Zpacks and pain killers. Why not let them take care of it as well.

kwoo - one thing that works well for boils, and which webMD says is good for abscesses (for whatever that's worth) as well, is hot compresses.

Just get a towel and run it under hot water until it's saturated, pop it in a plastic bag, and apply to the abscess (assuming it's external). This draws a lot of the pus/bad stuff to the surface, and makes it easier to remove, as well as less painful.

hope ya get fixed up soon

Pilonidal Cyst Treatment

An infected pilonidal cyst is an abscess that requires incision and drainage in order to improve. This procedure can generally be performed in a physician's office or in the emergency department. After numbing the area with an injection of a local anesthetic, an incision with a scalpel is made over the infected area. The physician will then drain the pus and remove hair and any other debris from the wound. The wound is then packed with gauze and allowed to heal. Antibiotics are generally not necessary unless your physician feels that you have a spreading skin infection (cellulitis). Pain medication will often be prescribed.

For those individuals with recurrent or complicated pilonidal cysts, more invasive surgery may be necessary in an operating room. Several different surgical procedures may be used in this case, and your surgeon will discuss the various options with you. In general, the major difference between the various surgical interventions centers around leaving the surgical wound open after surgery and allowing it to heal versus closing the surgical wound after debridement during the surgery itself.

Follow-up with your physician should be arranged to ensure adequate wound healing and to monitor for any potential complications. The wound packing will also be removed by your physician as necessary, and treatment at home will consist of pain control and proper wound care. Keep the wound area clean and remove any hair from around the sacrococcygeal area to prevent recurrence.

Ive had the procedure done before but thanks for the info...ive checked with a couple medical people including a Dr. I can have it drained using a sterilized needle to get me through till my health insurance kicks in on the 8th.

I was told to get good and drunk first to dull the pain. Finally, a medical reason to get smashed!

If u fick up and cut too deep, or it's a bleeder, being drunk will be a problem. The blood will be uber thin and clotting will be hindered.

Might wanna think about that.

Could someone slightly more medically educated than me tell me the difference between an cyst, abscess and a boil? It's purely morbid curiosity, but I'm wondering now....just too lazy to look it up
