Hi all,

On the weekend of November 5th, 6th and 7th, we will be doing some extensive server maintenance on the Boxcar server, which will lead to some downtime.

To alleviate any extended downtime, we'll be hosting a clone of the Boxcar site on a temporary server. This server will be online starting November 5th in the afternoon and anything you do on the site during the "downtime" phase will NOT BE SAVED when Boxcar is back up on Sunday, November 7th.

The temporary server will be slower than the normal Boxcar server, but the goal is to allow clans to have access to their site data and real-time news and stats while minimizing overall time the site is offline.

ok, but why not do the downtime when the set ended before?

i'm sure a day or two at the end of a set to do some minor maintenance on it, is easier then 3 days

because thats how it is
better its done that its not done and things go arse over tit ;)

it's the only time period that both the server host and me will be available for such maintenance

so i'm guessing planned maintenance in advanced is out of the question then?

LaE hopes to be announcing a replacement hosting site for folks to use over the downtime shortly.

This will be for FFA only. If you're using Boxcar for Team or Alliance, you're fluff outta luck. :-P

I turned the sigs off because marshal's sig was too crazy and was lagging people out and pissing them off when it occurred 30 times on 1 thread :p

if you have trouble getting that to load due to DNS issues, try http://boxcar_temp.boxcarhosting.com

The bots are not up yet, as I'm still rebuilding parts of the news db's, but I have this set's data + the forums data up, so you can start using it.
