would be a waste of turns imo, unless you have a very vulnerable SPAL

I don't think it's wrong, as there's no rule governing it...but I question whether the 25 turns and lost spies would really be worth it.

I think it's more for avoiding harmful spy ops if your SPAL sucks.

what if it the difference between stopping someone from being able to kill you or not. lets assume you are using it to protect a valuable country not because it has a bad spal but because there are others who have a better one.

I think it's pointless

I can guess your break pretty quickly after one failed hit, as I'm sure others can as well.

I agree. Waste of turns. Much better that you have some spies with a bunch of Spy Tech.

As far as losing a country to DSO's, I didn't think that was possible any more. I mean, unless, like you have 6 or 8 citizens left when they hit you.

I think he means for like CDs and demo's and the like not for regular ops. I have never really thought about it much so I am not sure. I know it has happened a few times during our current war while someone was walling but I dont thiuk anyone has done it on a regular basis that I know of or have run into. I think it would be a waste of turns to do it regularly but during walling it seems like it would makes sense especially if you were low on turns and had a high break.

you can only put yourself into spy DR when your making harmful ops. a non harmful spy op is not affected by DR. i believe this was posted by one of the developers.

the only time ive seen it in effect is if an enemy is CDing all your troops away to get a break, you can get a low SPAL country to do a whole lot of failed ops on your country to increase DR for the attacking enemy country so that they cannot CD so many troops away.
if you are organised enough in your KR though you will do enough damage with harmful ops before they even realise what is going on since obviously spy ops are not recorded in news.

Just have countries with 0 jets do bomb airbases on you. If you have no jets, you can't blow up any jets, no matter how many spies you have.

Spy dr does not affect the amount each op does on say a cd or ba it causes them to fail completely. For example a country with a spal or 100 will start bouncing cd's on a country with a 20 spal after about 20 ops regardless of

Nope, but the amount of troops or jets the aggressor has (depending on the OP) does affect how many troops/jets you will destroy with your spy op.

The last nail in the coffin of the idea for me would be that you have to do harmful ops on yourself to put yourself into spy DR. So really, your options are either bouncing a bunch of ops, or doing your attacker some sort of a favor.

i had heard regular, information spy ops are no longer affected by spy DR.

As for demo or CDs, this could be a useful tactic. I have had countries that were unbrekable, but very susceptible to CD, could have worked to put it in spy DR so I would keep my troops.

so its safe to say its on the same level as GSing yourself into DR.

its not really a waste if you have a 300 turn startup bouncing HSO's on your top country(ies) to prevent CD/BA/SR. would you not agree?

I'd probably say those turns are way better spent killing and growing for ready

but whatever floats your boat
