Now that alliance doesn't have any wars it feels like a huge portion of the games mechanics are no longer used in two of the bigger servers.
It got me thinking about how we could use the existing bot mechanics as a way to drive competition between human players and I had the idea of bots being tributes.
The idea would basically be this:
There would be a new pact type called Tribute. It would only be available between human players and bots.
If you attack/grab a bot enough some threshold would trigger the bot to send you a tribute pact (this could also be a new attack type called Demand Tribute).
A Tribute would then give you a benefit by either granting you a portion of their resources or by applying a portion of its networth to yours. My first thought is that 10% of a bot's NW would be tied to your country.
Other Human players could then attack the bot and try to take the tribute from other humans.
Special attacks could have an added bonus to the tribute threshold, so that a "war" strat now becomes a valid way to gain NW.
The goal of this feature would be to find a way to take some of the war-based aspects of the game and lean into the bot-driven functionality to give those functions more utilization as the game moves away from human-on-human wars.
