LOL... go you western force :-)

rugby players would run rings around NFL players fitness wise and still weigh 120 kg :-P..difference is NFL players that weigh 120kg are mostly fat that use their body weight to block. granted there are some very fit yanks that play NFL, but i woould bet my house on the fact that an all-australian rugby team would out manouver and out run an all american team any day. They just would not be able to handle to constant pace of rugby.

and if you want proof...you will never find a FAT rugby player. all of them are built like brick sh*thouses and can run like the wind.
i bet if i watch the next NFL game, ill se at least a few that are purely there to just throw their weight around but couldnt run more than 50m without having a heart attack

The only players on a NFL team that are there just for their size are the tackles and guards.

3 on offence and 2 on defense. And the elite of those can still run sub 5 seccond 40s

you are making ignorant generalizations and are making yourself look pretty stupid.

The main dfference is that rugby teams are mostly the equivalent of NFL linebackers and Safetys. Top heavy and yet still relatively mobile

the thing about NFL is you can not have an entire team of that build, you need players to protect the QB, you need quick players with good hands to run 60 yards eery play, and you need people to guard those fast fluffs. You need big fluffs on defense to stop the run, you need a tough fast fluff that can carry the ball and get rocked 30 times a game

there is a massive diversity in the build of players on a NFL team. Some a hundred times more fit that the average rugby player, some are just big fluffs

generalizing them all into one class is a very stupid thing to do. You clearly don't watch nor understand NFL games

The University in the city where I live had a Rubgy team. When I was a kid, I used to go watch them play every Saturday during their season. I loved to watch rugby when I was a kid.

Both types of football had outstanding athletes. Rugby does not have 375lb guys with big guts. Rugby does not have guys who can bench press a pickup truck.

Most (but not all) NFL player, with adequate training could play Rugby. Most Rugby players with adequate training could play NFL football at the skill positions.

NFL players like receivers, running backs, safeties and cornerbacks are *highly* conditioned athletes.

I've played both, and both are tough, Physical sports!
In both, you will give blood.. Prolly more blood are given, playing rugby. More blood, and teeth!
This is likely due to football players wearing helmets to protect their heads, faces, and teeth..
The only sport that has uglier players than rugby, in my
opinion, are hockey players.

Football, They wear pads, pretty much all over, which allows for a longer career in the sport.

There isn't much if any protection, in rugby. We wore mouthpieces. We played with no pads, and it really makes a difference. You'd think that there would be as many cheap shots taken, but since there is very little protection, one must be in touch with preserving the body. By doing this, it helps to preserve others who are in shape, too.

Both will ruin you, in a few short years, if you were lucky.

I've known neither to moonlight as rocket scientists, or visa versa..
