when you place an order for goods and you are offering top money do you not have first priority on goods coming to market?

eg: Bigwiggle put a standing order for troops at $700 and mrford puts a standing order for $701

I dumbass put my troops up for $121

Would ford not get all the troops i put up until his order is full then it would go to wiggly?

I think it should hypothetically go to whoever put up their order first, not for the most, since it's not an auction, they're still paying your $121 for the troops.

Then again, I know I had one set I was playing with the market (the first one standing orders were up) and I noticed a lot of goofiness in how this works, so I might very well be wrong.

I want to agree Twain, but I have put in orders above the current market expecting to but out the market at the current price and put my goods up at the order price and still not received them all. So I am baffled as to how to make this a reliable tool.

To make that clearer:

there were 1mil troops avail for 110, I put in an order for 6mil troops at 110. Theoretically I should buy those troops on the market and the next 5Mil to reach market at 110. I have then gone through my other countries and put in excess of 5mil troops up for 110. Next log in all troops sold, but standing order not met. So how the hell does it work so I can factor it into my strat.

were your goods sitting on market? Perhaps someone else had an older order out there, which would be why you didn't get your own goods. Someone else got some of them. You got the rest.

orders are placed in a rotation, first come first serve. assuming the goods are sold for 100 and an order exists for 999 and a new one for 121, the order for 999 would purchase all of them.

if the seller sold two batches of goods at 100, both the order for 999 and the order for 121 would purchase, 999 on the first batch and 121 on the second.

the only time you are 'first' placing an order when other standing orders are preexisting is when the price of goods sold is high as opposed to low. If the seller sells at 998 and there are numerous orders for 900 and lower, an order for 999 would then be first.

Hopefully this clears up any questions about market orders. If an order is unfulfilled with one purchase, it rotates to the back of the rotation to purchase again

'If an order is unfulfilled with one purchase, it rotates to the back of the rotation to purchase again'

For realz? So it would be beneficial to fragment large orders into smaller quantities and put many up?

And I won't be using my $700 troops orders until later in the week khavic .. don't give away my secrets :(

aponic: thanks for that explanation. That makes a lot more sense with how I saw the market working that first set when I was playing with the tech market and was wondering why I was only getting a chunk of the tech I was selling each time.

So if someone put out an order of 5k troops for $80, it would actually move whoever bought those troops to the back of the line, despite that it'd only be 5k troops.

If there was some way to actually know the order, that'd be one helluva fun way to screw someone out of cheap goods that should rightfully be theirs. :P
