First,I'd like to thank my good friend Ozzite for his vigilance in watching ESD's news so closely as to see those 5 grabs the guy did on himself. The server should give him an award. He does that kind of stuff for free. Awesome job.

Self farming? Like it? Me personally? I don't. But I see how it happens in today's FFA as opposed to 10 years ago and I've also made it abundantly clear that if one of my members does it and doesn't keep a defense that any normal player would that I best not hear squealing if he gets hit because he only has 12 turrets.

Whether you have to self farm to compete depends on one's definition of "compete", I suppose. If you want to be scratching it out with the other landpigs, then I guess self-farming is competing and I'm not gonna bust a guy's balls for it. Players that self farm are not competing against ME, that's for sure.

The same arguments can be made about FA chains and buyouts. And how is it more "honorable" when an entire clan does a buyout or sets up an FA chain to benefit one player and more than his own countries are involved?

I could go on, but nobody is going to change their perception of the issue. It is what it is.

You are most welcome :) Although it is really easy when you look at the "Most Land Internally Farmed" column in the Top 10 stats on boxcar.

For the record! I support self-farming, FA chains, AND buyouts. I just recall you fluffing about self-farming in the past and thought it would be fun to troll you a little. Mission accomplished! So please, encourage all your members to self-farm as much as they like :)

Honestly, when you're talking "the past", that would be like 10 years ago. And hell yeah. I was adamantly anti-self farming back in the day. I'd kick guys from the tag if they did it.

Well, not exactly. If they were farming down retallers, that was fine.

I may have commented on it negatively as well when I came back to the game a year ago as well, but after seeing the dynamic of the game as it now is, I can see why people do it.

That said, I'm not sure why guys feel like they need to have over 100K acres, but hey. It's their monkey.

I even experimented with it a few sets back. Haven't done self land-trading yet but Ketch tells me all the cool kids do it. May give it a go.

I am thinking of these comments I believe. If it has been a while, and you don't feel that way anymore, I apologize.

Again, I encourage you to encourage your members to self-farm :D

I would think that until explore rates are under 15 acres/turn or so that it's still better to explore. And buy/build jets for all that land trading to come. ;)

Land trading isn't worth it until about 10k, maybe 8k.

Farming yourself, like Tin Man was doing, is good at about 1-2k acres hehe
