We could do this for almost all languages really since the game is pretty well spread worldwide and i think most ppl wouldnt mind helping

that's great, but we don't have the system developed yet to allow for multiple languages to be used effectively.

like I said before, it's on the drawing board but we're just all so busy with RL stuff and that's a MAJOR overhaul :|

ya! :) getting the game into other languages is a very high priority item for us

I am in the process of setting up some wiki templates to make it easier for people to translate game strings into different languages. They won't take effect in-game for obvious reasons, but when we do get around to internationalizing the game, it will make the developers' life a little easier if they have the lists of translations readily available.

More to come (as i'm in the middle of writing the pages now).

The languages which are most commonly used besides English are currently:

Malay, Russian, Swedish, Filipino, Dutch and German.

I can help translation to Indonesian, it's really close to malay really :p

By the way, I think global expansion is one of the only ways to really revive this game back to numbers like we had in the old days. Whereas in developed countries, games like this are dying, in developing countries games like these catch like fire.

I live in Thailand, speak Thai, and can help when you guys start pushing out more languages.

As far as i know, the developers have been working on a template system that will make it possible to translate the game into as many languages as possible.

The 'problem' is, that this requires a lot of code rewriting- on top of that there are always things in the existing code that require ongoing work (like bug fixes for example). So there's basically (at least) 2 branches of code in constant development.

With only a handful of developers who have real jobs and lives outside the game, it's going to take some time, but the development IS a work in progress. Sorry, but I can't give you any kind of a time-line for its implementation, but it is coming!

Incidentally, I've been converting our data fields to utf8 in anticipation of multi-lingual support; this is still somewhat long term, but it's something we're trying to build in back-end support for earlier than later

Really, i cant understand why multilanguage in such low priority.

In my opinion most players don't need all this new admin toys with AI servers, better to attract new customers, not bots.

its something that needs to be done by users

perhaps what could be done is a list of all phrases which need translation, then a page which you could choose a language fill out all phrases then the game would auto translate them

and the lists of phrases for each language could be updated in a wiki style

it might even make sense to have the inputting on the wiki, and have the game/devs query the wiki, perhaps after an approval process

No, it must to be done by developers. Elihaar, me and other russian-speaking users can make full translation, but we can't insert it in game.

It's not that it's lower priority; it's that it's more work than other things...
