Is it just me or is Big Bang Theory just the funniest thing on television?

what dumb people think nerds talk about and it goes way over the top and is unfunny and mostly predictable

We all know nerds don't talk that way. Most humor is taking a subject and blowing it so far out of proportion it becomes funny.

I was kinda looking for what makes you laugh that's on television. I guess the need to argue with someone is just to great on these boards. Please forgive me for trying to give us a topic we do not have to bash each other over. It was my mistake for thinking it was possible.

BBT is good. So is How I met your mother.

I haven't managed to watch Modern Family yet.

I still like The Office, but i miss carell. Community is another on my watch list. This year in particular Curbed your Enthusiasm has been great.

BBT is alright.
Office was awesome but the past several years have been terrible.
Modern Family is hilarious.
I have never really gotten into Curb Your Enthusiasm but I can understand how some people would like that a lot.
Community is hilarious.

and on BBT -> ya... i don't find the humour funny and I'm a nerd. I agree with PP on that for sure. I think it does a good job of being a nerd-themed show which is geared toward a mainstream audience. But the jokes are so lowbrow and obvious compared to more sophisticated shows.

Also, an idiot abroad is the best thing to come out of the UK in years. Everyone should be watching that show. 2 series, thousands of laughs.

I've found I haven't enjoyed the 2 seasons as much as the first couple.

A lot of great comedy comes in dramedy form these days. Californication and House come to mind in this category. (Entourage when it was still on)

Most "network" comedy right now is not that great. Simpsons has been fluff for the past 5/6 years, Scrubs and The Office sucking it up, 30 Rock is getting too repetitive and/or over the top. Those are the shows that I used to love. Two and a Half Men, BBT etc. are just way too predictable (like... you can tell what the joke is going to be when they begin it). Same problem Friends had.

Actually it's a bit sad that when I look at my "likes" on Facebook I notice that pretty much every US comedy I list has either gone down the drain or is not on anymore.

There are a lot of good things from outside the US though :)

no ones gonna mention Workoholics? i'd say that and Always Sunny are my two faves currently running.

i'll admit my guilty pleasure is 2 Broke Girls too. i wanna have a threesome with those two so bad :P
