just watched it, had multiple nerdgasms.

9/10

compared to recent superhero movies, i say it's better than the the iron man movies & x-men first class

thanos was appeared at the ending! also don't bother waiting till the end of the credits there are no teasers/trailers shown, learned it the ahrd way :(

Considering x-men first class and Iron Man 1 weren't that great, and Iron Man 2 was horrible, I rate my expectations after your review a 3/10.

Not holding my breath. There's a reason the Dark Knight movies have been incredible.

x men first class was alright, not sure how you can compare it to iron man 1, which was terrible. The first half of capitan america was good too. Sure these movies have nothing on Nolan's, but a few of them have been worth watching.

the dark knight was awesome, but peter nolan batman films and the recent marvel ones are like apples and oranges. batman being darker, more serious compared to the marvel films. avengers being a top popcorn flick while dark knight an oscar-worthy film.

anyway its 96% on rotten tomatoes and 8.9 on imdb so that means a lot of critics agree with me :D

The Avengers was a council in UCN, along with the White council, they were a key factor to UCN`s survival in august of `98 which marks the end of the Klingon age, and the start of Fin`s rule, the avengers.. oh wait, this is the wrong one right, now you made me feel like a geek :(

It opened in NZ last night - they test American movies out in third world countries like New Zealand to check how well unsophisticated audiences respond so they will know how well the movies will play in places like Alabama.

when i took over the ICN and SOL had already decided to spin off from the UCN

i worked on keeping the avengers as the terran council but they decided to go out on their own also.

protecting them got me in my first war and started the real disconnect between sol and ucn

It was better then I thought it would be, the theatre at he local mall has it playing on 9 of their 11 screens, including the 2 Imax, by the time it opens in the US this will already be a world Hit!!

i get a feeling from the fact that some of you guys are hatin' so badly on X-Men: FC and especially Iron Man 1 (both of which were rated pretty highly by critics) that many of you guys are basically the equivalent of the comic book guy on the Simpsons.

I don't know what that means, cause I could hardly stand to watch the Simpsons (but the video game was seriously fun).

But, I will simply say what I hope for is that when a movie is made of a comic book, some turd doesn't go and do what happened with most of the Marvel movies: complete mixing of timelines from 40 years ago until today, a clownification of the superheroes, and a general dumbing down of everything for the masses. Just make the movie the way the comics were. I have some hope for the new Spider Man movie coming out. Spider man 2 and 3 were progressively worse, while the first one was quite good.

Maybe Iron Man 1 wasn't too bad...until the end where he declared himself Iron Man....dumb as hell.

b.) Since these movies are allegedly in continuity with the original X-Men movies, you have a major plothole with Alex Summers, Cyclops's brother, being 18 in 1963. That would mean Cyclops's parents mustve had him when they were 70.

Also I'm finding the recent Marvel movies to be "good" but bland given some of the really good stories in the source material. Thor wasn't particularly compelling. Captain America was okay, but the whole movie felt like a giant setup for later movies. I don't particularly care for Iran Man as a character so I was never into those. Mostly they have made me say "hey that's cool" but left me thinking that the actual payoff will be at a later film.

yeah the quality of the recent Batman movies kind of makes many of the marvel movies pale in comparison. It's too bad that the other DC character related movies weren't as good...

I'm a big fan of Samuel L Jackson and will see Avengers just for that.

Given that Marvel killed spiderman whatever the movies do now is flufftastic:P

I also don't care if the movies don't follow the comic plots as long as there is strong writing..

I enjoyed X-man first class for as a movie. As a prequel i had some serious issue. Like the comparison of ages of the characters and the timeline towards the other movies.

But really in the end if it can hold my attention and I come out going "that wasnt to bad" then its worth my 15 bucks for the ticket.

The lack of a reason was just one small example of the awesomeness of the hulk in that movie. It wasn`t even the best example. :P

There was a 2nd bonus scene after all the credits, but I think it was for the US only.

I also thought the movie was great. I didn't see it in IMAX yet since that theater is always packed, but I will go see it in a few weeks in IMAX and enjoy the wonderfulness of a big screen!

The second bonus scene didn't have ANY dialogue. It was just all the characters eating schwarma (sp?). Hahahaha! You really didn't miss anything.
